The closure of Health Net of West Michigan for May 22 marks a challenging moment for our community and for FitKids360. For years Health Net has served as our fiduciary sponsor and a trusted partner in advancing health equity, access, and family-centered care. We are profoundly grateful for their leadership and the role they have played in sustaining this work.
What remains unchanged is our commitment to the families we serve and to the mission that has guided us from the beginning, grounded in behavioral health, nutrition, and physical activity. Our model and the outcomes it produces are not easily replaced, particularly for families facing the greatest barriers to care.
We cannot do this alone.
This is a call to our partners, funders, health systems, and community leaders: if you believe in the importance of intensive, family-based health interventions and the role FitKids360 plays in advancing health equity, now is the time to step forward.
We are actively seeking:
- Potential fiduciary sponsors or institutional partners
- Bridge funding or emergency financial support
- Strategic partners interested in sustaining or scaling the FitKids360 model
- Champions willing to advocate for the continuation of this work
The decisions and discussions in the coming weeks will determine whether this program and the families who rely on it have a path forward.
This is a difficult moment, but it is also a defining one. With urgency, collaboration, and shared commitment, we still have an opportunity to preserve and evolve this work for the future. Please consider a donation to ensure the future of FitKids360 beyond this time of need. The donation link can be found in the linktree in our bio.
We will continue to communicate openly as decisions are made. In the meantime, we ask you to reach out, engage, and stand with us as we determine what comes next.
With resolve,
Carola Carassa, MPA
FitKids360 Executive Director
