Today we honor the strength, resilience, and courage of those affected by breast cancer. Early detection, compassionate care, and informed choices make a difference.

Dr. Jamie Caughran is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in breast surgery and surgical oncology. She completed her medical degree at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, followed by a residency at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners and a fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital. With a 4.9/5 patient satisfaction rating, Dr. Caughran is known for her compassionate care and dedication to patient education.

Gratitude, Generosity, and Golf ⛳💚

A few years ago, Todd Brown made an extraordinary decision—he donated a kidney to his friend Bruce Bunce at Trinity Health. That life-changing gift sparked a powerful partnership and a shared mission to give back.

Since teaming up with the Saint Mary's Foundation, Bruce and Todd’s annual golf outing in Grand Rapids has raised more than $36,500 to benefit the Kidney Transplant Program at Trinity Health—a program that has been transforming lives through compassionate, expert care since its founding in 1973.

Trinity Health’s Kidney Transplant Center is the only adult transplant program in West Michigan and one of the most successful community hospital-based programs in the country. We’re proud to welcome Jim Passinault, MD, MBA, Attending Physician at Trinity Health Grand Rapids, to the Saint Mary’s Foundation Board of Trustees.

Dr. Passinault brings a lifelong connection to Saint Mary’s—born here, inspired by his father’s 50+ year legacy of service, and now continuing that tradition through his own 18-year medical career. He also serves the community through roles with the Killgoar Education Foundation, Clark Retirement Community, and Catholic Central Football.

💬 “Saint Mary’s has been instrumental throughout my entire life. I was born at Saint Mary’s, and it has remained close to my heart as my dad spent his entire 50+ tear career as a servant leader here including as a trustee of Saint Mary’s Foundation. When deciding on where to practice medicine, the Catholic mission and service of SM attracted me to be part of the medical staff. For the past 18 years, it has been an honor to care for patients. The Saint Mary’s Foundation allows THGR to continue to serve our community through excellent and compassionate medical care.
