I’m joining the team at Corewell’s soon-to-open Trauma Recovery Center as a Trauma Recovery Therapist! Only the second of its kind in the State of Michigan, TRCs offer survivor-centered holistic care for victims of violent crimes. For FREE.

My passion for clinical social worker started with trauma therapy at the Center for Women in Transition (now Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence.) Over the past decade, I’ve worked to build a practice centered on trauma informed, person centered connection.

I’m excited, honored, and humbled to start this journey, and be a part of curating this incredible space for survivors from day one.

In the wake of the horrifying election results, so many members of the LGBTQIA+ community are more afraid than ever before, but the rhetoric surrounding gender affirming care has put our trans community members at the forefront for prejudice, hate, and even violence.

Gender affirming care is on the chopping block come January under the new administration. This includes access to hormonal therapy, surgical intervention, and even therapy.

This week, for Transgender Awareness Week, I want to make something abundantly clear. I’m standing with the you. I’m fighting for you. If you have been putting off therapy, if you need someone to sign some pesky forms with more urgency than before, or if you just need to talk through the imminent threat to your right to exist, I’m here.

I have nearly 8 years of experience in gender affirming care, and I will continue to offer the trans community a safe and empathetic space to blossom and heal for as long as I can. Trans Liberation starts with us!

May 1 is World Maternal Mental Health Day!

Globally, 1 in 5 women experience some kind of perinatal mental health disorder, and 7 in 10 of those women try to hide their symptoms.

You don’t need to hide alone any longer.

I specialize in women’s issues, including perinatal and postpartum depression and other mental health issues facing moms (i.e., postpartum anxiety, rage, and even psychosis, relationship changes after baby, body image, social challenges, and identity crises.)

Being a mother is the most intense and challenging experience, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m still accepting new patients both in-person and via telehealth (super convenient if you’re a SAHM, have a sick kiddo with you, or just don’t want to put on real pants!)

My therapeutic philosophy is that you are the expert of your own experience. You know where you are and where you want to be, and there is a good chance you know how to get there. My job is simply to help you interpret the map. Therapy should be a collaborative experience where you leave feeling empowered from working together to solve the problem at hand.
