Sometimes folks come to therapy feeling as though they’ve missed their chance or that it’s too late to make the change they want. Too late to repair the relationship. Too late to pursue a new passion. Too late to come out. Too late to embrace new understanding of gender. Too late to start taking care of myself. Too late to explore. Any of these resonating?

The truth is, it’s never too late. We need you to be you. And we can’t wait to see what you’ll do next!

“The work” of therapy for many LGBTQIA+ clients involves connecting to their inner child and learning how to listen, hold space, and bring loving attention to their needs. It’s a beautiful, important, and transformative process. Making self a priority brings healing & strength.

Sometimes, you will need to make the right choice for you before you know where that choice will lead.
Lean into self-trust.
Let yourself choose.
See what happens.

You are not a before and after story. You are fluid. Multilayered. Ever-changing. You don’t need to prove you’ve made it to some “other side.” You can just be you now. -

you have always been the source,
you have always been the cup, you have always been the water, you have always been love, even if it's only been you giving it to you.

Responding to your inner critic with gentleness, reassurance, and curiosity can help you avoid cycles of shame. In realizing that the critic’s language is fear, we are empowered to respond with care for ourselves as opposed to further embodying what scares us.

Your nervous system breathes a sigh of relief when you allow yourself to receive help, support, or love.

Many of us struggle with asking for what we need. We may feel it’s a sign of weakness, that others may disappoint or disrespect us, or that we’re burdening others. We may be harboring the idea that we should be able to handle things on our own. If your inner thoughts sound like this, it’s time to return to a posture of self-compassion.

It’s ok to be scared. Being vulnerable intrinsically involves risk. Recognize that asking for what you need is a sign of strength; a sign that you are caring for your mental health. Your body with thank you.
