Meet Bodie.

Bodie is the only guy in the herd and has been by my side for many adventures over the last 8 years after joining me from my Dad’s pasture. Initially, he was my main riding partner — steady, willing, and always ready for the next trail.

Then Bodie suffered a significant injury and was given only a 50% chance of survival. But Bodie made his choice very clear… he wanted to live.

For nearly a year, he endured intense wound care with more patience, trust, and grace than most horses would tolerate. He allowed healing. He allowed support. And somehow, through it all, he remained gentle.

As Bodie stepped back from full-time riding, he stepped beautifully into a new role.

He helped teach Blaze how to become a solid riding partner with patience and wisdom, and today he serves as an incredible equine coaching partner at REACH Within Ranch.

Bodie has a calm, grounding presence that people instantly feel. He is patient, forgiving, steady, and deeply attuned. He has a special way of honoring survivors — holding space with compassion, softness, and quiet understanding.

When you look into Bodie’s eyes, you can feel it… the love, the wisdom, the safety.

You are well held in Bodie’s presence. Always.

I’m excited to share that REACH Within Ranch will be participating in the Once in a Blue Moon Market on Sunday, May 31st at Old Central School in Grand Rapids!

This community event is being organized by Charmed Custom Candles, and I’m incredibly grateful for the intention, energy, and heart being poured into creating this gathering.

I also want to thank Growing Harmony Within for inviting us into your space during the event. I’m looking forward to connecting, collaborating, and spending the evening alongside so many generous and passionate individuals within our community.

At REACH Within Ranch, we talk often about courage, connection, and the unseen things people carry.

Today, we pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to others, along with the families and loved ones who continue carrying the weight of that sacrifice.

Behind every name is a story. A family. A connection. A life deeply loved.

May we remember them with gratitude and live in ways that honor the freedom their sacrifice helped protect.

Meet Blaze.

The youngest.
The silliest.
The one most likely to join me in questionable decisions and random adventures without hesitation.

Life with Blaze is rarely boring.

Blaze is curious, expressive, and has a playful spirit that keeps all of us on our toes. As a coaching partner, she tends to approach both people and situations with openness first. She is often willing to check things out with you and give you the benefit of the doubt while she figures out who you are and what you are bringing into the space.

At the same time, Blaze will hold you accountable if what is happening in your mind, body, spirit, and words are not lining up. She will eventually call it out and stand firmly in her message.

She is not especially subtle about it either.

Subtle exploration and endless processing are not really part of Blaze’s personality. She would much rather you get honest with yourself so she can move on to what she loves most — connection.

Blaze has a beautiful way of reminding people that boldness and authenticity creates connection.

What continues to rise to the surface is a deep desire to create intentional spaces where women feel safe enough to slow down, reconnect with themselves, explore their experience with compassion, and move through life with greater awareness and authenticity.

Together, REACH Within Ranch and Rivers Edge Ranch created these experiences to offer intentional space for reflection, authentic connection, emotional growth, meaningful community, and time in nature alongside the herd.

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. The days get longer, the horses shed their winter coats, and the trees slowly start to bud.

We did some spring cleanup and a routine vet visit for the herd today.

There’s something special about springtime. While there’s always plenty of work to do after a long winter, today was filled with meaningful moments, laughter, and connection along the way.

From raking and hauling manure to checking in on the horses and sneaking in a little horsey time between chores, it was one of those days that fills your heart.

And I couldn’t have asked for a better helper. Watching little hands work hard, care for the animals, and share sweet moments with the horses is such a beautiful reminder of the healing, grounding, and joy the horses and the forest bring.

Grateful for healthy horses, helping hands, sunshine, and another season beginning at REACH Within Ranch.

The Growing Harmony Within “Being Who I Want To Be” workshop was a meaningful and insightful experience. Kim brings a calm, grounded presence and has a relatable way of teaching complex concepts that naturally invites curiosity, reflection, and awareness.

I left the workshop with renewed energy, greater clarity, several heartfelt “aha” moments, and a deeper compassion for my own human experience and that of others I love.

The concepts Kim shared align beautifully with Gestalt principles and values-based living, reinforcing the importance of awareness, body-based healing, and compassion in our human experience.

I place high value on integrating self-awareness and ongoing personal growth as essential elements of healing — not only for myself, but so I can remain present, attuned, and supportive in my work with others.

The human experience we are navigating today calls for an even greater commitment to awareness, personal growth, and alignment with our personal values, as well as values that support humanity as a whole. I’m grateful for the spirit of collaboration and shared intention that Kim brings forward.

I encourage you to watch for upcoming offerings from both Reach Within Ranch and Growing Harmony Within as we each continue to create spaces for healing and growth — and explore ways to collaborate and offer deeply aligned, meaningful experiences.

As I stood in the pasture and reflected on 2025 with the herd, I became overwhelmed with gratitude for two simple yet powerful truths.

This year, I learned the importance of patience and allowing—when I trusted the timing and let the journey unfold, abundance, joy, and fulfillment were unmistakable.

When I pushed or forced the path, stress took over, the feeling of abundance disappeared, and joy felt scarce.

Turns out, I prefer patience and allowing and I pray I continue to develop this skill!

Reflection on the lessons is crucial for me, as is reflections on the things I have shared with others. This year I shared infinite moments of meaningful connection—with the horses and with some truly incredible humans, both personally and professionally!
