This past weekend, our team joined the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Holland — and together we raised over $800 for the Alzheimer’s Association! 🎉

This cause means so much to us since we care for so many amazing clients living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. A huge thank-you to everyone who donated, walked, and supported our team. Every step brings us closer to a cure! 💜👟

🔥 It’s Fire Safety Week! 🔥
Here are a few simple but important reminders to help prevent fires in the home.

✅ Keep space heaters 3 feet away from anything that can burn.

✅ Never leave candles unattended — or try flameless ones instead.

✅ Stay in the kitchen while cooking.

✅ Unplug appliances you’re not using.

✅ Don’t overload outlets or use damaged cords.

✅ Keep clutter away from stoves, heaters, and exits.

Every year, falls are a leading cause of injury for older adults—but many can be prevented with simple steps at home. Here are a few tips to help keep you or a loved one safe:

✅ Check lighting – Replace dim bulbs and add nightlights in hallways and bathrooms.
✅ Secure pets – Small pets underfoot can be a tripping risk, especially on stairs.
✅ Dry floors quickly – Wipe up spills or water near sinks and showers right away.
✅ Review medications – Some prescriptions can cause dizziness or affect balance.
✅ Avoid Reaching – Keep daily essentials at waist height to avoid bending or climbing.

This week, our Atrio Home Health teams from both the Grand Rapids and Lakeshore locations gathered at Hager Park in Jenison for our annual Employee Picnic & Years of Service Awards.

We shared a delicious meal, enjoyed time together, and celebrated the incredible accomplishments of the past year – from milestones in service to special recognitions of the compassionate work our team does every day, and our very special employee of the year.

Our 2025 theme, Ohana, reminds us that family isn’t just who you’re related to – it’s who you show up for. At Atrio, we care for our patients like family, and we care for each other the same way.
