Our family would first like to express our appreciation for the calls and texts and messages of comfort and condolence on our loss of Anton L Deans (Rude). We will be bringing him home and having services here. We thank you all for the love and well wishes and words of comfort that have been pouring in but it is just a little overwhelming at the moment. We appreciate your understanding and we will update everyone the moment we have things arranged and have information but we would really appreciate some time and space to work through this as well

Greetings, and Happy New Year from our family and staff at Ivy K Gillespie Memorial Chapel.
We would first like to thank our city and community for your years of confidence in our services and care and your continued support. Without you, we are nothing.
We thank you for your recent patience and continued support while our family and office staff have been personally dealing with this pandemic called COVID. This has definitely hit us all as a community and we are not exempt. We are however doing everything in our power to continue to serve you; our people, and your needs as we navigate through these health and quarantine protocols. We hope and pray with confidence that you as our city and community are still cared for through these times.
We will have our staff back, healthy, and ready to assist and care for you all after Thursday, January 6th 2022. Again; we do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused as we all have been fighting this virus this past week, but we are dedicated to returning and serving you all and caring for your families, loved ones, and needs.

Sherman Gillespie recently passed away on September 11, 2019. Funeral services were held on Thursday September 19, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, located at 227 Fulton in Grand Rapids.
