This month is full of celebration, learning, and centering voices to be heard!

It is important to learn, honor, and show up for everyone in our community. Not only does this month help us be intentional, it also allows us to be reminded why community work is so important. Black stories and voices are not always given the time and respect that they deserve. It is our job to center these stories and provide support where we can.

When we talk about depression, what do you envision? πŸ’‘ Often, we think of sadness or feeling down, but what if depression shows up in a completely different way? πŸ€”
This is where we see the impact of depression misconceptions. Someone is struggling with making choices, unable to be active due to physical pain, and constantly feeling extreme fatigue may be labeled as "lazy" or "irresponsible". These assumptions can cause someone to not seek support because they are blaming themselves when really depression shows up in so many different ways. It is important to know that depression does show up in our minds and bodies. We can experience physical pain, extreme fatigue, irritability, brain fog, worthlessness, and so much more.
