I am so full of gratitude for my dear friend and midwife, Kristine Lauria. Kristine has spent much of her life serving women around the world. She has walked with mothers through breech births, triplets, and in refugee camps where resources are scarce. When it came time for my daughter’s birth, Kristine stepped into the role of midwife with the same wisdom, steadiness, and gentleness that she carries everywhere she goes.
Kristine was there to help hold me up and help pick up the pieces when my teacher and friend, Rebekah Knapp, passed away. Our friendship was formed in a season of grief and sadness but has grown into something so happy and beautiful. To have her hold us now in this time of sweetness and growth for my family felt so right.
Her care for my daughter in labor was so beautiful to witness, and to see my grandson welcomed into the world by her hands and his father’s, is something I will always treasure. Kristine, thank you for blessing us with your presence, your wisdom, and your joy. You are a gift to all who know you, and we are so grateful.
