Thank you to the Kent County Food Policy Council for sharing valuable information regarding the pause in SNAP benefits.

WHAT THIS GAP MEANS FOR SNAP RECIPIENTS:
If you currently have funds on your EBT card, you can continue using them; however, unused benefits over 9 months old will be eliminated from the available balance
MDDHS will continue processing applications, renewals, and case changes.
Check MI Bridges for updates that will be posted there as things change.

NEED FOOD NOW:
Dial 2-1-1 or visit Find Help - Michigan 2-1-1 for free, confidential assistance and referrals to local food programs and support services.

Content recommendations from the AAP. You know Dr Howard sports Elmo on her stethoscope- and how many kids can recognize him? Many fewer these days than the last 25 years.

With lots of TV programs out there created for kids, it can be hard for parents to know which ones are the best. Dr. Jenny Radesky, pediatrician and co-medical director of AAP’s Center of Excellence on Social Media and Youth Mental Health, joined Today, Explained from Vox Media to discuss the current children’s media landscape and how to identify good content for children. Tune in wherever you get your podcasts and for more info on finding high quality content, check out the Center’s new Early Childhood Development and Screen Time Toolkit at https://www.aap.org/EarlyChildhoodScreenTime

And while the internet doesn’t always have your best interests at heart, pediatricians do. If you have any questions about vaccines, don’t hesitate to reach out to your pediatrician.
