If you’ve been hitting that afternoon wall lately, you’re not alone! I see this every single week in my office.
And honestly? It’s usually two super simple things:

1. Hydration.
Most people are more dehydrated than they think, especially if you’re drinking coffee, running around with kids, or just not paying attention to water until you’re already exhausted. Even mild dehydration can make your energy tank.

2. Your lunch.
If you’re eating something quick, light, or mostly carbs, your blood sugar is going to spike… and then crash. Adding protein + fiber at lunch is the easiest way to keep your energy steady through the afternoon.

Nothing dramatic. Just small upgrades that make a big difference in how you feel.

If you’re tired of the daily crash and want support getting to the root cause, I’d love to chat with you.

💛 You can book a free 15-minute meet & greet through the link in my bio.
Let’s figure out what your body is trying to tell you.

Little things that have been keeping me grounded this fall 🍂🤍

From recovering after the never-ending colds to biking outside and loading up on berries + fiber… it’s the small habits that make the biggest difference.

Swipe for the simple routines that have been supporting my mind + body lately!

And if you are in need of a great natural allergy support (D-hist), I’ve been loving this one & have it linked via “Fullscript” at the link in my bio 💕

If you’re in a season where exercise feels overwhelming, let me be the first to say: you don’t need a gym membership or a perfect routine to benefit from movement.

In the summer, I’m outside as much as possible doing walking, gardening, chasing my kids, and doing anything I can to soak up fresh air. That counts. That is movement.

But winter gives me more margin, so my routine shifts. I carve out 30 minutes a day and pick something I actually enjoy! Peloton workouts, barre, Pilates, yoga, and a little weight training in my tiny home setup. Nothing extreme. Nothing punishing.

And here’s the biggest thing:
I refuse to do movement that feels like punishment.
Don’t like running? Same. So I don’t run.
Hate a move in a workout? I skip it.
If I love what I’m doing, I actually show up for it and that’s where consistency comes from.

If you’re looking to rebuild your energy, support your hormones, or just figure out a routine that works for your real life, I’m here for you. ❤️

✨ Book a free meet & greet with me and let’s talk through what’s realistic for your body and your season.

Is it perimenopause… or just life being life? 😅

I’ve been on my own journey recently, tracking my hormones across multiple cycles, noticing my period getting irregular, and trying to figure out what my body is actually telling me.

Right now, I’m trialing a supplement blend with maca to help support a more regular cycle and see how my system responds before considering any type of hormone replacement therapy.

Our hormones shift for so many reasons, and sometimes the first step is simply getting curious and gathering real data.

If you’re wondering where your hormones stand, I’d love to guide you. 💛

👉 Book a meet & greet with me to chat through your symptoms, your cycle, and your options!

Your gut and hormones are way more connected than we were ever taught. And the best part? Supporting them doesn’t have to be complicated.

Even the smallest daily habit, like 2–4 tbsp of sauerkraut, a little yogurt, or a glass of kefir can boost your microbiome diversity by 20–30%. When your gut is happier, your hormones have the foundation they need to feel steady, balanced, and predictable.

I love simple shifts that actually make a difference. If you’re feeling off lately, overwhelmed, or not sure where to start with your hormone symptoms… start here. Tiny habits add up.

And if you want a deeper, personalized plan or you’re curious what working together looks like, I offer free meet & greets so you can ask questions and see if it’s a good fit. 💛

Let’s be honest… life is full.
Kids running around, work deadlines, dishes stacked, a million things on your mind.

So if getting support for your health means loading kids into the car, driving across town, and sitting in a waiting room… it’s probably not happening 😅

That’s why I meet with my clients virtually.

You can show up exactly how you are! Cozy on your couch, sipping your favorite tea, baby on your hip, or squeezing in a chat on your lunch break. You still get the same deep, personalized care… just with way less stress.

Your health should feel doable. It should feel supportive.
And it should always fit into your life. 💛

If you’ve been curious about naturopathic care or just want someone who will actually listen, I’m here for you.

Hi, I’m Dr. Jen Overbeck (Naturopathic Doctor) 👋
Did you know cholesterol is the building block of your hormones? 🤯

We need cholesterol to make:
• Estrogen
• Progesterone
• Testosterone
• Cortisol (stress hormone)
• Vitamin D ✅

So when cholesterol is too low, hormone symptoms can show up…
• Fatigue
• Low libido
• Irregular cycles
• Mood changes
• Blood sugar swings

But when cholesterol is too high, it’s often a communication signal from the body that something else needs support👇
• Blood sugar/insulin dysregulation
• Thyroid imbalance (especially low thyroid!)
• Chronic stress + cortisol demand
• Liver/gallbladder sluggishness
• Inflammation in the gut or body

Instead of fearing cholesterol, I help my patients focus on healthy cholesterol metabolism, supporting the liver, gut, adrenals + thyroid so hormones stay balanced. 💛

Your body isn’t malfunctioning , it’s messaging you.

📌 Save this for your next lab review

As a naturopathic doctor, I believe women deserve to truly understand their hormones, not feel confused or dismissed by them. 💛

One of the most impactful books I’ve read is Hormone Intelligence by Dr. Aviva Romm. It explains the menstrual cycle as SEASONS, each with unique needs, strengths, and shifts:

🌸 Follicular — Spring: new energy + creativity
🔥 Ovulatory — Summer: confidence + connection
🍂 Luteal — Autumn: grounding + nourishment
❄️ Menstrual — Winter: rest + reset

When you support each season, everything starts to feel better:

• less PMS + period pain
• balanced mood + energy
• steadier hormones all month long ✨

If you’re ready to understand your cycle and feel like yourself again…

📩 Send me a DM with “HORMONES” and let’s work together.

You’re not meant to suffer through your cycle, you’re meant to THRIVE in it. 🤍

Strong is the new balanced,
Especially for women over 40.

As estrogen naturally declines, we lose muscle and bone density faster, unless we intentionally build it back.

Studies show women 40+ who lift weights just 2–3x/week:

✅ Maintain muscle mass and strength
✅ Support bone density
✅ Improve insulin regulation
✅ Experience better estrogen balance

(Journal of Aging & Physical Activity, 2018)

And no, you don’t need a gym membership or intense workouts ⬇️

Small habit = big results:

• Bodyweight exercises at home
• Resistance bands
• 10–15 minutes of lifting 2–3 days a week

Your hormones want you to be strong, not shrinking.

Your future self will thank you every time you pick up a weight. 💛

🌿 Struggling with fatigue, weight changes, or perimenopause symptoms?
I help women build strength and balance naturally.
