Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I have to get undressed?
You may undress to any level that is comfortable to you. Some people prefer to get completely undressed, while others prefer to keep all of their clothes on.
Do you use oils or lotions?
Unless a patient specifically requests that I do, I do not use any sort of oil or lotion. This allows me to better manipulate the muscle tissue beneath the skin without slipping off.
I have pets. Is that okay?
Absolutely! I'm an animal lover, and have no problem with your furry, feathery, scaley, and creepy crawly pets being around.
I have young children at home. Is that okay?
You probably need a massage more than most! As long as you're comfortable having your kiddos around, I am too.
Is there an age limit for who can receive a massage?
Absolutely not. Everyone from babies to the elderly will benefit from a massage. Persons under the age of 18 will have to have a consent form signed by a legal guardian.
Deep tissue is supposed to hurt, right?
NO! A good deep tissue medical massage is certainly not a comfy fluff and buff, but it shouldn't be painful. Pain is a tool your body uses to tell you that something isn't right. If it's more than uncomfortable, SPEAK UP! You'll get the same great results without the pain.
I'm sore after my massage. Is this normal?
Absolutely. You've had areas of stiffness, inflammation, and poor range of motion that we worked to correct during our session. Just like going the gym and getting in a good workout, you're going to feel some muscle soreness for a day or two.
