Partners in Plastic Surgery of West Michigan is a Grand Rapids plastic surgery center that combines the skill of 3 plastic surgeons to achieve beautiful enhancement for face, body, and breast. Partners in Plastic Surgery of West Michigan was established by the visionary plastic surgeon Dr. Dennis Hammond, who founded the practice on a philosophy of excellence, safety, and beautiful results. The pr

actice underwent a name change from The Center for Breast & Body Contouring to Partners in Plastic Surgery of West Michigan as the practice expanded and incorporated the skills of another highly-qualified and dedicated plastic surgeon in Michigan, Dr. Andrea Van Pelt, whose specialties helped expand the variety of procedures offered to meet patient needs. With the retirement of Dr. Andrea Van Pelt in 2023, Dr. Terri Zomerlei and Dr. Lauren Sall have joined the practice. They specialize in procedures such as breast reduction (including the SPAIR technique), breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, arm lifts, breast lifts, buccal fat removal, gynecomastia, labiaplasty, panniculectomy, liposuction, fat grafting, body lifts, thigh lifts, split earlobe repairs, and removal of general skin lesions. Spring always makes people take a second look in the mirror.

Maybe it’s the lighting. Maybe it’s finally not being bundled up in 6 layers.

Either way… you start noticing things.

Skin feels a little different.

Things don’t sit quite where they used to.

That doesn’t mean you need to do anything.

But if you’ve been wondering what your options are — that’s exactly what a consult is for.

No pressure. No sales pitch.

Just a conversation so you can decide what makes sense for you.

Behind every surgical procedure is a team working together

Successful surgery involves more than the surgeon alone. From the first consultation through recovery, many professionals contribute to the care patients receive.

At Partners in Plastic Surgery, our surgeons work closely with a dedicated clinical team that includes nurses, surgical staff, and patient coordinators who help guide patients through every step of the process.

Many patients see the same team members throughout their visits. That continuity helps create a familiar environment where questions can be discussed openly and each part of the process is explained clearly.

Careful surgery begins with thoughtful planning, and that planning depends on a team that values precision, communication, and attention to detail.

Before any procedure is recommended, the most important step is a conversation.

A consultation at Partners in Plastic Surgery is an opportunity for you to talk about the changes you’ve been noticing, ask questions, and share the concerns you may have about your face or body.

From there, our surgeons take time to evaluate the factors that may influence treatment planning. These can include skin quality, tissue support, and the natural proportions of your face or body.

In some situations, surgery may be an appropriate option. In others, a less invasive treatment may be more suitable. Occasionally, the most appropriate recommendation may simply be to wait and continue observing changes over time.

The goal of consultation is not to move quickly toward treatment, but to help you understand your options and make decisions with clarity and confidence.

Early changes in skin firmness are often first noticed along the jawline or beneath the chin. You may start to see a slight softening in these areas as collagen production naturally slows over time and the skin gradually loses some of its elasticity.

If you’ve begun to notice these early changes, treatments such as FaceTite Turbo may help improve contour without the need for more extensive surgery.

FaceTite Turbo uses controlled radiofrequency energy beneath the skin to gently heat the tissue. This process can support collagen remodeling and help tighten the underlying structures.

Because every face ages differently, factors such as skin thickness, tissue structure, and the degree of laxity all play an important role in determining whether this treatment may be appropriate for you.

During consultation, the specialists at Partners in Plastic Surgery take time to evaluate these factors and discuss which treatment option may best help improve the areas that concern you.

Understanding BodyTite Turbo for Skin Tightening

Changes in body contour can sometimes develop gradually as skin and tissue respond to time, weight fluctuations, or natural loss of elasticity. Even with regular exercise and healthy habits, some areas of mild skin laxity may still appear.

BodyTite Turbo is a minimally invasive treatment that uses controlled radiofrequency energy beneath the skin to gently heat tissue and support skin tightening and collagen remodeling. For certain patients, this approach may help improve contour without the need for larger surgical incisions.

Skin quality, the amount of laxity, and overall anatomy all play an important role in determining whether this treatment may be appropriate.

During consultation, the specialists at Partners in Plastic Surgery take time to evaluate these factors and discuss whether BodyTite Turbo or another treatment option may be the most appropriate way to improve contour.

A great day at PIPS introducing IgniteRF!

It was a chance to share more about how this technology works, where it fits within different treatment approaches, and to answer questions in a more personal setting.

IgniteRF is a minimally invasive treatment that uses controlled radiofrequency energy to reduce targeted fat while tightening the skin.

Using small internal probes, it allows for a more precise approach to areas such as the jawline, under-chin, arms, and abdomen: all without the need for general anesthesia.

We’re excited to be the only practice in West Michigan offering IgniteRF, with treatments performed by Dr. Paige Goote.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and took the time to be there, we truly enjoyed the opportunity to connect and share this experience with you.

We always value the chance to have real conversations and help make these topics a little clearer.

If you’d like to learn more about IgniteRF or explore whether it may be right for you, we’re here to talk.

Experience and training are important in surgery, but the way that experience is applied to patient care matters just as much.

At Partners in Plastic Surgery, advanced surgical training is paired with a careful and responsible approach to each patient’s care. Our plastic surgery specialists bring years of experience and specialized training while focusing on clear communication, thoughtful evaluation, and careful surgical planning.

In West Michigan, trust is often built through relationships. Many patients first hear about PIPS through friends, family members, or physicians who are familiar with the way our surgeons care for their patients.

Technical skill is essential in surgery, but trust, transparency, and open communication are what help patients feel comfortable and confident throughout the process.

When considering breast augmentation, implant size is often the first thing that comes to mind. In reality, careful planning involves many other factors related to your anatomy.

If you’re considering breast augmentation, one of the first steps is understanding how your individual anatomy influences the surgical plan. Factors such as chest width, skin elasticity, existing breast tissue, and overall body proportions all play an important role in determining which implant options may be most appropriate.

These anatomical considerations help guide decisions about implant type, size, and profile in order to support balanced, stable results.

Breast augmentation isn’t about creating a one-size-fits-all appearance. Instead, the goal is to enhance your natural proportions in a way that feels harmonious with your body.

During your consultation, the plastic surgery specialists at Partners in Plastic Surgery carefully evaluate these factors and discuss the options that may help achieve a natural-looking outcome.

If you’ve been exploring breast augmentation, a consultation can help you better understand which approach may be best suited to your anatomy.

A month focused on clarity and trust

Beginning a surgical journey starts with understanding. Over the past month, the focus has been on education, thoughtful planning, and helping patients feel informed and supported from the very first conversation.

At PIPS, building trust means taking the time to explain options clearly, answer questions honestly, and guide each person at their own pace. This foundation allows patients to move forward with confidence, knowing they are respected and well cared for.

In the months ahead, more will be shared about the PIPS approach, the surgical team, and the consistent care patients experience every day.

If you’re considering plastic surgery and want clear guidance in a supportive environment, scheduling a consultation offers the opportunity to begin the conversation.

Choosing a practice built on trust

Credentials matter, but they’re not the whole picture. It’s about how you’re treated when you walk in the door and how clearly things are explained from the start.

At PIPS, planning is deliberate and communication is straightforward. Expectations are discussed openly, and follow-through matters just as much as the procedure itself. What you hear in the first visit should match what you experience afterward.

That consistency is what gives people confidence in their choice.
If this sounds like the kind of care you’re looking for, we’re here when you’re ready to meet.
