Meet our October corporate employee spotlight, Brecca! Brecca works as a Staffing Manager with our Homecare department and has been with our company since January 2020. She comes to us as a Grand Valley State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Science.

Brecca says that her favorite part about her work is being about to help our clients, and seeing their faces light up when we walk in the room. She loves to hear their stories!

Brecca has been happily married for 18 years and has 4 amazing children. Outside of work, she loves to spend her time with family and friends, watch her son play football, basketball, and baseball, and she loves going to the beach in the summer for swimming, water skiing, and tubing with the kids. A fun fact about Brecca is that she was born on Halloween!

Meet our October employee spotlight, Jessie! Jessie works with us as a Caregiver and has been employed with us for about 3 months now. Jessie says that her favorite thing about the work she does is that it doesn’t matter how big or small the act is- just knowing she is able to help someone makes her happy!

Jessie is originally from Indiana and moved to Michigan 2 years ago with her husband and her black cat named Abyss. Outside of work, Jessie enjoys spending time with her husband, her cat, and her close friends, and even goes for drives and takes nature photos on nice days.

Although it’s important to focus on your eye health year-round, this month has been observed with the purpose of raising awareness of the importance of regular eye exams, as well as a reminder to get your eyes checked!

With vision being one of the top human senses on people’s list, only half get an annual eye exam. Some people do not feel the need to go to an eye doctor because they have not experienced any changes in their vision. Eyecare is much more than how you see, and it can look different for every stage of life.

Eye exams can detect glaucoma and macular degeneration as well as some diseases that are not related to vision, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, rheumatoid arthritis, high cholesterol, and brain tumors.

Eye health should be a priority the same as regular exercise and a healthy diet. Go get your eye exam today!

Meet our very first chosen employee spotlight for the month of August, Toyin!

Toyin works as a Certified Nurse Aide and has been a valued employee of ours for 3.5 years! Her favorite part of working as a CNA with DMS Companies is that she is appreciated by the management staff and residents. Toyin says this gives her joy and encouragement to go the extra mile taking care of residents! When she is not at work, Toyin enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. She loves cooking, traveling, singing, dancing, and taking photos.
