With the new movie "Manhunt" premiering this week, about the search for Lincoln's assassin John Wilkes Booth, remember that Missaukee resident Walter Gorthy was the last surviving member of that posse. He claimed to have been standing next to Booth's killer when he fired a gun through a knothole in the barn where Wilkes was hiding.
Perhaps Walter will be a character in the movie!
