"Jessi completely exceed our expectations as a nighttime doula. As first time parents, we were extremely nervous and had no idea what we were doing when we brought home our newborn. After about 3 weeks of very little sleep, we decided to hire a night doula and could not have been more happy with the decision. Jessi was so confident, calm, and positive from the moment she entered our home. She completely eased our anxiety and took such good are of our little baby girl. It is hard to let a stranger into your home to watch your baby while you sleep, but we had full confidence and trust from day 1 that our baby was in great hands. Jessi also showed us helpful feeding strategies and helped us identify that our baby had reflux. Jessi had inquired (in the most nonjudgement way) if baby girl had returned to her birth weight. We investigated with our pediatrician and realized she was not gaining enough and we had to change our feeding strategies. This led to baby girl being so much happier and sleeping better. I'm so happy Jessi helped us identify this issue early on."

Honestly speaking, bottle feeding your newborn can be a learning curve. It’s one of those new parent duties that seems simple in theory but can get a little messy in those early days. (Insert acid reflux, sucking in too much air, tummy troubles, and tired arms) The good news? Many of these can be fixed with a simple bottle position adjustment.

One of the many tasks postpartum doulas help with is teaching new parents how to bottle-feed if needed. This is a critical skill during the postpartum period with your newborn because the right feeding positions can make all the difference. And having someone personally walk you through and show you how to do it is invaluable.
