Stretched, but Still Standing
Answering the call, even in the heaviness
The past few weeks have been intense emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Between daily responsibilities, leading AIM To Inspire, visiting hospitals, and praying over families and clients, I’ve felt stretched. Not broken… but definitely pulled in every direction.
Yesterday at church, Pastor said, “If you feel like giving up, come to the altar.”
I didn’t move but my spirit whispered, “Lord, I’m tired.”
I’m not giving up. But I am feeling the weight.
One of my clients recently had blood clots in her heart, stomach, and legs. Before she was taken into surgery, I stood by her side and prayed over her and with her family. That moment was holy. Sacred. Another client had been in the hospital for over a week—withdrawn, unresponsive to family or staff. But during my visit, he smiled, sat down to eat donuts with my granddaughter and I, and took a shower. That may sound small, but it was huge.
Sometimes all someone needs is a familiar face, a prayer, and a presence that says, “You matter.”
Please continue to keep the disability community lifted in your prayers. The physical and mental health challenges are real, daily battles. Many of the families I serve are carrying burdens others can’t see and yet, they keep going.
So do I.
But only by His grace.
I’m thankful that God keeps using me, even when I feel like I have nothing left.
I’m thankful when a family says, “I felt peace after you prayed.”
Or when someone calls later just to say, “Thank you for showing up.”
This is more than work. This is ministry. This is purpose. This is obedience.
And as long as He gives me strength, I’ll keep showing up.
💛 Let’s Keep Lifting Each Other
