If you only read one more health article this January, make it this one.
It reinforces a critical truth we discuss with all of our patients at true.: Heart disease is the #1 killer of women, yet it remains widely misunderstood.

This New York Times article highlights essential facts too many women aren't told:

🩵 Heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined
🩵 Menopause is a major turning point for heart health
🩵 Heart attack symptoms often look different in women
🩵 Pregnancy history, autoimmune disease, and early menopause matter
🩵 Women are still underrepresented in cardiovascular research

This isn’t meant to scare you. It’s meant to empower you with information so you can advocate for your health, ask better questions, and get care that actually fits your body.

Remember, cardiovascular risk quietly increases during perimenopause and menopause. This is why addressing your heart health must happen earlier AND be integrated into your comprehensive healthcare plan.

Read the article here and consider sharing it with a woman you love:

Women’s cardiovascular health has long been overlooked and understudied. Here are some things to keep in mind.

There’s a reason the start of a new year feels different.

Psychologists call moments like this temporal landmarks. They are points in time that help our brains mark a transition. The New Year is one of the strongest. It creates a mental “before” and “after,” making it easier to let go of what hasn’t worked and feel open to something new.

If you’re noticing a sense of hope, clarity, or readiness right now, that’s not just you. It’s the power of a temporal landmark and what researchers call the "fresh start effect". And a fresh start doesn’t have to be dramatic.

At true., we see this season as an invitation to:
- Stop pushing through symptoms you’ve normalized
- Get curious about what your body is asking for
- Choose support over doing it all alone
- Take one small, intentional step toward feeling better

Our Complete Wellness Program is designed for exactly this kind of moment. Personalized, whole-person care that supports women through menopause, metabolic health, weight, sexual health, and beyond.

A new year isn’t about perfection or pressure. It’s simply a moment to begin again—with more knowledge, more compassion, and intention. If this feels like your time to reset, we’re here when you’re ready. 💙 https://bit.ly/3w1TRHG

Happy New Year from everyone at true. Women’s Health ✨ Welcome, 2026!

A new year doesn’t require a complete reset. You just need a moment of intention. Aging is inevitable, but HOW you experience it is not. Healthy aging is built through small, thoughtful choices made consistently over time.

You don’t have to push through menopause symptoms, feel discouraged by changes in your body, or navigate your health alone. There are options and support! And there is a path forward that meets you right where you are here at true.

As we step into 2026, we want to remind you of this: your health journey is personal, and you deserve care that reflects that. With the right guidance, tools, and partnership, it’s possible to feel stronger, more informed, and more confident in your body at every stage of life.

Here’s to focusing on what’s realistic, sustainable, and supportive—because you deserve to feel healthy and vibrant in the year ahead. 💙

Planning your health goals for the new year? Make sure to include strength training! Your future self will really thank you!

Dr. Celia Egan recently joined Janice Allen FOX 17 alongside our Fitness Coach, Darius McKinney, to talk about why strength training is essential for women—especially in midlife and menopause, and here’s why:

- Preserves muscle as hormones shift
- Protects bone density
- Supports metabolism and weight management
- Improves mood and confidence

The best part? You don’t need fancy equipment or a gym to start. As Darius, Janice, and Dr. Egan demonstrated, simple movements you can do at home make a real difference when done consistently!

And if you’re already a true. member and part of our Mighty Network community, you already know Darius—he leads our weekly strength and movement plans!

What day is it? What time is it? Honestly… who knows.

Welcome to that in-between stretch! Routines are optional, pajamas are acceptable all-day attire, and leftover cookies somehow qualify as a food group. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This week is a perfect pause before the new year. Rest if you need it. Reflect if you’re ready. And please, gently layer in a little self-care!

‣ Move your body (even a short walk counts!)
‣ Drink some water, please.
‣ Get extra sleep
‣ And most importantly—be kind to yourself

There’s no need to “reset” perfectly. Just reset intentionally! We got this, ladies! We’re almost there! (And FYI - it’s Sunday, December 28th!)
