Big news in the world of weight and metabolic health!
The FDA has officially approved the first oral GLP-1 medication for weight loss—and it’s now available on the market.

Our Director of Obesity Medicine & Metabolic Health, Dr. Celia Egan, recently spoke with Janice Allen FOX 17 about what this means for patients.
This once-daily pill offers a needle-free alternative to injectable GLP-1 medications and is expected to be more cost-effective than many of the current injectable options.

As Dr. Egan shared, cost has long been one of the biggest barriers to treatment:
“It's more cost effective, and I think that's been the major barrier to getting people these medications, is cost and coverage.”

As always, we're committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care. If you have questions about whether GLP-1 therapy is right for you, we’re here to help you understand your options—now and in the future!

Watch the interview here:

A new oral version of Wegovy has been FDA-approved, offering a more affordable and accessible option to injectable GLP-1 medications that have transformed weight loss treatment for millions.

🚨 Stroke risk in women — what you need to know.
This week, Dr. Diana Bitner joined Janice Allen FOX 17 to highlight why stroke prevention matters, especially for women. Hormonal changes, metabolic shifts, and midlife transitions can increase risk. But the good news is that awareness and early action can save lives.

Dr. Bitner mentioned one of the most important tools we can all remember is FAST:
F – Face drooping
A – Arm weakness
S – Speech difficulty
T – Time to call 911

If you notice any of these signs, even if they come and go, call 911 immediately. Every minute counts.

Stroke doesn’t look the same in every body, and women often experience symptoms differently than men. Knowing the signs, managing risk factors, and building heart-healthy habits can make all the difference. Watch the full conversation with Dr. Bitner and Janice here:

Strokes are often preventable, and midlife is the best moment to act for women. Dr. Diana Bitner shares what you can do now to lower your risk.

Heart health doesn’t pause during menopause. In fact, it becomes even more important. ❤️

Dr. Celia Egan joined EightWest on WOOD TV8 this week to discuss the connection between menopause and cardiovascular disease, and why stress, sleep, hormonal changes, and metabolic health matter in midlife.

As estrogen levels shift, women may experience changes in blood pressure, cholesterol, body weight distribution, and inflammation. It’s why heart health during perimenopause and menopause deserves thoughtful, proactive care.

The true. team proudly attended the Go Red for Women event in Grand Rapids today! We were especially honored that Dr. Celia Egan served as a panelist, sharing insights on women’s heart health in midlife and beyond.

Heart disease remains the #1 cause of death for women, yet so many women don’t realize how cardiovascular risk changes during perimenopause and menopause. Conversations like the one Dr. Egan helped lead today are critical to closing that awareness gap.

We’re grateful to stand alongside leaders and other incredible women physicians in our community who are committed to educating, empowering, and advocating for women’s health.

Thank you to everyone who wore red, showed up, and continues to prioritize heart health! ❤️

You may recognize a familiar face… 🩵

Earlier today, true.'s very own Dr. Diana Bitner was on The Drew Barrymore Show alongside Gabrielle Union in partnership with Bayer, helping bring menopause into a national conversation.

They talked openly about hot flashes - one of the most common and misunderstood symptoms of menopause.

One comment from the conversation was this reminder from Dr. Bitner: “Menopause isn’t the problem. Suffering in silence is.”

For too long, women were told to push through symptoms, feel embarrassed, or assume that feeling off was just something they had to accept. But menopause is not something you have to figure out alone. And you certainly don’t have to suffer through it without support! Women should feel empowered to have honest conversations with their healthcare provider about their symptoms and available care options.

This is exactly why true. exists and we are proud to be part of the menopause movement, supporting women with personalized, whole-person care through midlife and beyond!
