Southwest ERN® employers and strategic partners gathered to celebrate the vital role Southwest ERN® plays in the region's workforce development. "This SWM ERN® event gave us an opportunity to showcase our ERN® Member commitment to investing in their teams, fostering employee retention, and making a meaningful community impact," said Kelli Adams, ERN® Director. We enjoyed food and drinks as we connected to celebrate our collective achievements. It was a wonderful space to network with our employer champions!" In 2024-2025, SWM ERN® served 1,967 employees at 28 employer member companies with 1,963 supportive employment solutions, achieving 12.7% average utilization and 518.1% average employer ROI (ERN USA 2024 KPI Report).

ERN USA spoke to policy-makers, industry trailblazers, and visionary researchers for “Manufacturing Momentum Goes to the Motor City,” a groundbreaking Manufacturing USA national summit focused on solving one of the most urgent challenges of our time: building the advanced manufacturing workforce of tomorrow. ERN USA, serving a manufacturing workforce of 11,717 member employees in 2024, shared how ERNs can drive national strategy at the intersection of technology, talent, and economic competitiveness. ERN USA is looking forward to a fall launch of the Thrive ERN in Columbus, Ohio with Scott Johnson as ERN Administrator lead at Aspyr Business Solutions!

Success coaches are being offered at more Ohio businesses as part of collaborations among businesses to offer resources to employees. One is planned for Columbus this year.

The program would connect Mahoning Valley employers with a shared success coach to help employers boost retention rates in the workplace.

Join us May 28th 1:30-2:30pm EST for ERN USA's Employer Peer Learning Call: Human Leadership in an Emerging AI World - A conversation with Brent Orrell, Senior Fellow for American Enterprise Institute, and ERN USA member employers, facilitated by James Vander Hulst. Brent Orrell is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), specializing in job training and workforce development with a special focus on disconnected and disadvantaged populations, including youth, justice-involved, veterans, and neurodivergent persons. His recent work has focused on the workforce opportunities and challenges resulting from generative AI and automation, as well as strategies for improving economic mobility in rural, redeveloping, and non-metropolitan areas throughout America. Brent has spearheaded AEI’s involvement with the Workforce Futures Initiative, in collaboration with the Brookings Institution and the Harvard Kennedy School, which has produced multiple reports, working group sessions, and interest from communities across the US. He has written, coauthored, and edited multiple reports for AEI, and frequently contributes to the popular press, including The Bulwark, Deseret News, The Dispatch, Law and Liberty, The Hill and RealClearPolicy.
