Hope blooms! 🌸💐

Yesterday, patients and their families came together to slow down, connect, and create something meaningful. They designed personalized bouquets at our Hope Blooms event while sharing special moments along the way.

With the help of our Patient Experience Team, Recreation Therapy Team and art therapist, Libby, this experience supported mindfulness, creativity and self-expression – sparking joy all day long.

Sometimes, the smell of fresh flowers can plant the seeds for connection and healing!

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to Mary Free Bed!🐔 🐣

It’s time for the Mary-est Moment of the Week! Our sub-acute rehabilitation floor got a very special visit from some Silkie chickens, bringing a whole new meaning to “therapy animals!” 🧡

Thanks to Healing Hens Chicken Therapy, our therapy garden was filled with fluff, fun and plenty of smiles.🤩

Patients had the chance to hold, pet, and learn all about these gentle, feathery friends. The joy was undeniable. Moments like these remind us that healing comes in many forms, sometimes with a little extra fluff.🐥

Gratitude’s in full bloom after Let Freedom Spring! 🌸🌷

Yesterday, the Mary Free Bed Foundation hosted its annual Let Freedom Spring Luncheon, presented by Trace3, at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. It was an absolutely beautiful day.

For 13 years, this event has brought our community together to celebrate the power of rehabilitation and support Mary’s Mission, helping provide innovative programs, essential services and advanced technology to thousands of patients across Michigan and beyond.✨

Helmet check. Bikes ready. Let’s roll. 🛞 🧡

We had a wheel-y great time at our annual Bikes for the Rest of Us event this weekend! From first rides to finding the perfect fit, it was a day full of momentum, confidence and plenty of smiles. More than 50 kids and adults with disabilities had the chance to test out adaptive bikes alongside our clinicians, gearing up for greater independence and the joy of movement.🌟

This event truly keeps our community moving forward, and it wouldn’t be possible without our incredible volunteers, clinicians and staff who help make every moment count.💫

A huge thanks to the Mary Free Bed Guild – this amazing group of women helps power this event year after year. We’re so grateful for your support in helping our patients ride toward new possibilities!💚

What a memorable day at the Limb Loss Awareness 5K!💚 🦾

It’s time for the Mary-est Moment of the Week, and this one was all about community and connecting for a great cause. With more than 270 participants, the energy was incredible, and the smiles said it all.🤩

We’re so grateful to everyone who showed up to raise awareness for limb loss and limb differences while supporting Kentwood’s Adaptive Recreation Program with every step, roll and stride forward. 🦿🦾

Jessica is a clinical care supervisor whose professionalism and calm demeanor make a meaningful difference for both patients and her team every day. The DAISY Award is an international program that celebrates the lasting impact of extraordinary nursing care.

Jessica was nominated for her ability to guide others through challenging moments with composure, strength and unwavering dedication to care, while also supporting those around her when it matters most.

With 12 years at Mary Free Bed, Jessica brings a wealth of experience, from her time as a spinal unit nurse on both day and night shifts to her work in case management. She’s known for her incredible attention to detail, her dependability and her effortless ability to coordinate care She’s also a proud mom of four. 💛
