Little hearts, big love đź’•
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, our heart-shaped elderberry gummies are back—just like last year, made with intention, tradition, and a whole lot of love.
Elderberry has been used for generations as a gentle, plant-based ally to support the immune system, especially during the colder months when sniffles like to make their rounds. Turning it into a gummy makes it a kid-friendly way to introduce herbal wellness—no fuss, no battles, just a little daily ritual rooted in nature 🌿
These are perfect for families wanting a more mindful approach to wellness—simple ingredients, handcrafted in small batches, and shaped like hearts because caring for our kids’ health should always come from the heart 🤍
✨ A sweet reminder that herbal support doesn’t have to be complicated—it can be soft, intentional, and even a little magical.

The West Texas wind chill finally hit, and now the coughs and congestion have started in our home.
Two of our kids needed some extra support, so I’m making our Herbal Halo Cough Syrup.
I practice holistic health because I like to reminds us that we can support our bodies naturally—using herbs, intention, and simple ingredients we trust.
There’s something powerful about making your own remedies and knowing exactly what’s going into them.
If you’re looking to add herbal support to your home this season, check out my website to learn more about our handcrafted remedies.

West Texas cold front rolling in and you know what that means—dusty winds, cold mornings, and everyone feeling it in their chest and throat.
Our Hippy Cold Care Tea was made for days like this.
A grounding blend of our herb of the month - elderberry, yarrow, and peppermint to support immunity, soothe the throat, and help your body ride out the season naturally.
Throw on a hoodie, put the kettle on, and let the herbs do their quiet work 🌿🍵

Available now at Broken Halo—stock up before the wind really starts howling.

🍇 Week 2: Why We Need the Elder

Welcome back to the Under the Halo series. Last week, we met the plant. This week, we explore The Why.

Why is Elderberry the undisputed Queen of the winter apothecary?
In my Broken Halo Materia Medica, I dive deep into the chemistry of this plant, but simply put: Elderberry is our winter shield.
While many herbs boost the system after you are sick, Elderberry is unique because it is a strategist. It is best known for helping the body proactively defend itself against winter bugs before they take hold.
It is also a traditional favorite for when you feel hot, bothered, and "stuck" during an illness, helping the body naturally cool down through a healthy sweat.

⚠️ The Vital Rule:
Powerful medicine requires respect. Raw elderberries will make you very sick. They must always be cooked or properly dried to unlock their medicine safely.
This plant is essential, powerful, and belongs in every home.

Want the full breakdown?
In the complete Broken Halo Materia Medica, I go into the specific actions, dosing strategies, and contraindication (available at the end of the month for digital download). But for now, know that this is the ally you want in your corner when the seasons turn.

Next week: The Magic & Folklore. ✨

The apothecary was in full swing today! 🌿⚗️ I’ve spent the entire day surrounded by jars and plant magic, tweaking some of your favorite old formulas and dreaming up brand-new tinctures.

There is no rushing nature. These potent blends need to sit, macerate, and extract for a full 4–6 weeks to ensure every drop of medicine is pulled from the plant material. It’s a slow process, but that’s the beauty of it.
By the time the first Spring Markets roll around here in West Texas, these will be pressed, bottled, and ready to heal. 🌱

Tell me: What health struggles usually hit you hardest in the Spring? Allergies? Energy? Let me know so I can make sure I’m brewing what you need! 👇

Heritage in a Cup: The Cantaritos de Barro Collection

Part of our Southwest Rooted set, these Mini Cantaritos de Barro candles are a love letter to my heritage and the comforting aromas of a traditional Mexican kitchen. Each 3oz candle is hand-poured into an authentic, reusable clay cup (barro), just like the ones used for generations to share drinks and stories.
Adorned with a whole cinnamon stick and star anise, for a delicious scent of Horchata, these aren't just candles—they are a ritual.
Once the wax is gone, the cantarito remains—a keepsake of the desert to repurpose on your own homestead.

Cloudy days carry quiet medicine. 🌥️
With less direct sunlight, our bodies naturally slow, producing more melatonin—the hormone of rest and restoration. It’s nature’s gentle reminder to soften, reflect, and move at a slower rhythm.
Here in West Texas, the sky is wrapped in clouds today, and it feels like the perfect moment to sip something warm, ground your energy, and let your nervous system exhale.
If your body’s asking for comfort, this is your sign to reach for a cup of tea. ✨
Hint: my tea collections are waiting for you.
