Yesterday I had the great honor of working on a semi-retired Shiatsu and Acupressure massage practitioner who is from China. He recently suffered a great personal loss and his energy was quite low and contracted.
I was thought to myslef: “Oh, I can do loss, grief, and darkeness!” In my mind….like my process has been HEAVY and I have come to the end of another cycle of processing grief, loss, and acceptance for what “IS”.
He mirrored the collective and I so perfectly.
He is a master and, for one of the first times in my career, I was not nervous or intimidated. This man will forget more about Chinese medicine and health than I will ever know.
Try putting cups on a guy who knows the meridians and can recite the points in his sleep…..so, yes, it was a challenge to hold my center and not run out of the room! 😂🤣😂
At the very end of his session as I finished the work on his neck and disconnected, he looked at me and said:
“You are an expert!” I put my hands together and bowed, saying: “It has been a true honor.”
When you get the seal of approval from your elders, it makes everything you have gone through shift into focus and make sense.
Having a bodywork practice in Missouri is no small feat. People here still have a backwards view and luckily, I attract the type of client who can recognize me and does know the difference.
It doesn’t happen every day, but God sends me his angels to keep me going…..
