We are excited to announce a resident excursion on The Grand Lady Riverboat Cruise on our calendar for Monday, September 22 at 11:30 am. This cruise will also be open to the public, which means you may also book your ticket directly and accompany your loved one by meeting us at the boat launch.

You may purchase your tickets via this link: https://www.grandlady.info/events/2025sightseeing922/

Boarding on the Grand Lady is at 11:45 am (our bus will be arriving around 11:15 am with our residents). The boat trip is from 12 noon to 2 pm. Twenty tickets for residents have been purchased in advance to secure our booking for them.

We will be determining which of our residents may be interested in this trip in the coming days. Transport to the boat launch on our Georgetown & Cambridge bus will be reserved for our residents. Family and friends are encouraged to book their own tickets and meet us at the boat launch at 825 Taylor St, Jenison, MI 49428.

A sack lunch and beverage will be provided for our residents. Feel free to bring your own sack lunch to join us. Food and snacks may be brought in; however, all beverages (even waters) must be purchased at the snack bar on the boat. No beverages of any kind may be brought on board. Cocktails, beer, wine, sodas, waters, and light snacks like chips or pretzels may be purchased at the snack bar on board. Please see The Grand Lady website for FAQs and other important information and restrictions: https://www.grandlady.info/

Registration for Georgetown & Cambridge residents on this excursion is on a first-come/first-served basis through Life Enrichment. For convenience in arranging payment for the resident’s ticket, a $20.00 ticket charge and any incidental charges like extra beverages purchased on board will be applied to the resident’s monthly bill as an ancillary charge.

Since space is limited on the Georgetown & Cambridge bus, if you are interested in accompanying your loved one, please email Jodie Alexiev, Life Enrichment Director, at: jodie.alexiev@baruchsls.org so we can secure bus transport for your loved one to the boat launch. Once the bus is filled, and if there is still availabiity on the cruise, you are welcome to purchase tickets directly through the link above and transport your loved one on your own and connect with us there!

We are looking forward to creating many joyful moments for your loved one in this cruise! Don’t miss being a part of it!!!! All aboard!

We had wonderful weather and an incredible turnout for our Family Picnic this year! Chef Nick featured pulled pork sandwiches, all-beef hot dogs, cole slaw, a resident-crafted spiral pasta salad, and ice cream. Kids enjoyed a lucky duck pond, roulette wheel, ring toss, “Granny Pants”ball toss, face painting, and giant “beach” volleyball game. Good times!
