Today I did a thing... I competed in the Level Up Games as an athlete at Burn Boot Camp - Granger, IN. It has been a minute since I've been called, or referenced myself, as an athlete. So many emotions came with today and I'm so proud of myself for accomplishing this long-term goal!
This week was exhausting. A sick kid, little sleep, sore muscles, unable to workout the last 2 days, etc. I was so nervous and full of doubting thoughts & excuses of "Am I ready for this?", "What if I pull a muscle?", "Maybe I should just stay home with Boden", etc. But I set 5 goals for myself & I knew I would regret not following through with them:
1. Sign Up to compete.. at least for the Modi-Fire Division ...βοΈ
2. Show up on competition day...βοΈ
3. Finish each workout / Don't Quit...βοΈ
4. Finish under the required time...βοΈ
5. Place in top 3... Not realistic, but I had to appease my competitive spirit π€£
So many times we are scared to do something new because we don't know what the outcome will be, and that was me this morning. I've been preparing the last 3 months for today... setting short-term goals weekly to help me be physically fit enough to compete, and still, I showed up with doubts. It wasn't easy... it was hard... but I finished, without quitting and under time!
Below are some videos from today. It wasn't the prettiest or the fastest, but the best I gave, and that is all that matters.
