Scheduling your prenatal care.
It is really helpful to think of my work as preventive care and labor preparation/support.
I am all about supporting your unique journey, needs and goals. But seeing me at certain milestones will help increase your comfort and birth goals.
So let’s talk about it.
My work is broken down into three phases:
Phase 1 changes your body, and the baby’s optimal position;
20 week
24 weeks
30 weeks
Phase 2 labor preparation:
34 weeks
36 weeks
37 weeks
Phase 3 Induction work:
38 weeks until delivery
Please know that you are welcomed to come in at any time but these are the important milestones to not miss.
The difference between labor preparation and induction work.
Labor preparation is making sure that the baby has enough space to get low and centered. The uterus is what gets baby out and into your arms. So if baby is facing the right way, low and centered this can greatly help with pushing times and recovery in postpartum. As well as lessening the chance of tearing.
With labor preparation we are focusing on making sure the parts of the pelvis that need to be loose and flexible are. Such as the femur head, sacrum and tailbone. All of these areas have to open and expand to support the pelvis opening like butterfly wings in your labor.
Induction work:
Is focused on working in very specific areas to get aid in helping labor start. I of course do all the support for helping you prepare for labor but also have a focus to help labor start.
I am here for any questions.
You are loved and supported.

This week at the positive pregnancy.
Amazing care I was invited into:
A sweet mama who is on a first time journey, and learning a new skill of overcoming anxiety. And she is doing amazing.
A mama whos baby is teaching her the power and strength of softness and the power of flexibility
A mama who is learning the power of grief and the wisdom that grief can teach us.
A mama who got her vbac.
A sweet doula who needs help getting ready for labor. (There is something magical about supporting another birth worker.)
Lesions I have learned from the babies:
Moods are like the wind. They come and go but you are always your grounding rock. No matter what is going on around you. You can find safety inside.
The value of touch.
Anything can resolve and anything can find its own balance.
Lesions I have learned as a human and massage therapist:
Things have been tricky with my family for a long time. Over the past few years we all have been doing a lot of self work and work on our relationship.
This journey has shown me that no matter what the past holds, the future can hold a new story.

With a second baby it can feel like there are all the feels.
The second baby can feel like a tricky dance. It can feel like you are not doing enough and not trying hard enough.
None of that is truth.
Sometimes it can feel like you are grieving the solitude you had with your first, the time to quietly be with just your baby, and all the wonder of the unknown that the first baby holds.
The second invites us to think of our pregnancy in a different way. You don’t need to read as many books or take as many classes. Because you have already done that. You are past the phase of this being a new skill.
Which is a different perspective than with first. With the first it was about connecting in solitude. Now you are connecting with your baby as a family.
Each time you cook as a family your baby is there, when you put your little one to bed, your baby is there, each time you drive home from work your baby is there, Each time you hug your partner your baby is there.
I wonder what other ways you can think of creative ways you are connecting with your baby?
You are enough.
You are doing an amazing job and you are thriving.
This baby is lucky to have you.
Lighten your heart and let yourself believe how truly amazing you are.
With all the love and support,
Your friend,
Sati

Scoliosis is a really unique pregnancy.

With all pregnancies there are so many changes.

Your body, organs and baby need space to support the changes that you are experiencing.
The pregnant body can face a lot of changes but mamas with scoliosis have a few extra hurdles to overcome.

There is an extra layer of challenges with breathing, helping baby drop (around 33 weeks, upper back discomfort and getting comfortable in the later stages of pregnancy. Breastfeeding brings some extra hiccups that take some patience to adapt too.

Please know I have supported a lot of mama with all kinds of curves and would love to invite you to my table to help you with this journey.

When to start care for this type of support? You can start care at any point in your pregnancy but the sooner we can start working on creating space for you and your body, and your baby the better.
How often do you need to come in? Depending on the level of tension you have and how the relaxin is affecting your spine/body we can define how often you need to come in. It truly is case by case.

Let’s work together to keep helping support your birth goals, help you feel more comfortable breathing and help with any pain you’re having.
You are loved and supported,
Sati

This week felt like such a powerful week in my practice and in my personal life. They’re where so many beautiful moments. My heart is so full.
.
This week I was gifted to support:
2 women’s wellness
6 newborns
2 postpartum mamas
11 prenatal clients
Interesting cases I was invited into caring for:
Mama growing baby number 5.
A powerhouse of women learning the strength of softness and how powerful rest is.
First time mama learning to trust her baby and to be able to hold space. For her daughter to process her birth story.
2 tiny fiends who graduated this week.
2ed time mama with scoliosis.
Lessons I as a human and massage therapist.
Made peace with asking for help. Seriously a new skill I am trying to learn.
Everything is figure-out-able.
Releasing the word can’t and replacing it with how can I.
Lessons I learned from the babies.
Some times you just need to be heard. Not fixed or have anything addressed but sometimes you just need to be heard.
Strength always looks different.
How easy it is to release the past. How much it affect you to hold on to it.
With all the love and support,
Sati

Please never feel like you have to choose between coming for a postpartum session and being away from your baby.
It's really hard in the early days of postpartum, to be away from you, baby.
You are ALWAYS welcomed to bring your baby in the early days of postpartum.
Having a helper to hold baby is a great idea.
If that is not an option, you can be on your side with baby next to you.
I can wear baby.
I can rock the car seat with my foot, whiling supporting you.
🌟Please know home visits are also always an option.
You are loved and supported, and I want to help you recover.
🌟 If you and baby/breastfeeding are healing smoothly. I recommend starting care within the first 10 days of postpartum.
Your friend Sati.

Finding out baby is in a breeched position can be tricky and bring up a lot of mixed feelings.

There can a lot of space of unknown and lack of answers.

When thinking about a breeched presentations it can be helpful to let your mind shift from fear about possible change of birth plans and a change of how you might birth your baby.

To shifting to creating space to trust your body and your baby. It is really powerful, mindset to have about your amazing body and baby.

I am here for you to help you create space for baby to get head down. I am here to help you emotionally and physically prepare for an ECV.

Babies always know how to get head down. But, some times they need extra space around the uterus, in in your pelvis and help getting your nervous system out of fight or flight. Which allows your body any baby to work together to reach our goals of getting baby head down.

For the best results seeing me at least three times for this care is helpful.

If you are having an ECV please let me know. The more space we can create for the ECV the more comfortable you and baby will be. As well as increasing the success rate.

It can also be helpful to use affirmations to give even more support to your baby to get head down.

Affirmations:

* I quite my mind and let my body give birth.

* It is safe to let go.

* I am learning to feel safe letting go of control.

* My baby will be born at the right time for a positive birth.

Your Friend,

Sati
