What are the differences amongst neurotoxins: Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport?

Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport all work by relaxing targeted muscles at the injection site, thus reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. At the molecular level, they all share the same active core ingredient, Clostridium Botullinum. However, neurotoxin molecules not only consist of an active ingredient but they also contain inactive proteins. The difference between Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin lies in the composition of these inactive proteins. Manufacturers made subtle proprietary changes to the inactive portion of the molecule to make it their own. Variations can result in differences in how quickly the product takes effect and how it spreads within the muscles.
