✨Therapy Success Story!✨

Joyce came to Evercare of Granite City for a short rehab stay.💙
She participated in physical, occupational, and speech therapy 5 days a week. When she first came to us, she could only walk very short distances with a walker, had difficulty with her standing balance, and needed a lot of help with all of her activities of daily living.
✨In 4 short weeks, and a lot of determination, she returned home ambulating without an assistive device and completing all of her activities of daily living independently!✨
Her grit and determination along with the hard work of our amazing therapy team allowed her to reach her goals of returning home! 😊
We are so happy for her and wish her all the best! 💙

Youlanda came to us after a fall that had landed her in the emergency room.
Youlanda and her husband had taken in a homeless puppy, but unfortunately the puppy caused Youlanda to trip and fall onto her right hip. Youlanda suffered a right femur fracture and subsequently required surgery to fix the fracture.
Youlandas goal upon arrival was to return home so she could continue singing karaoke with her husband on Monday nights🎤
She was determined and at only DAY 3 was already walking 50' with a wheeled walker!! Her hip pain had significantly decreased from 9/10 to 3/10 (Due to increased activity and electrical stimulation)
She was also able to get out of bed with only contact guard assist.
She was able to discharge after only 10 days of therapy🥳
Youlanda chose to continue her therapy journey by coming to Evercare of Granite City Outpatient Therapy. She said she had built a great rapport with the therapist and was so thankful for her success in therapy and could only envision her continued healing with our therapy team!
Youlanda is a great example of resilience, courage, and positive outcomes that emerged from her hard work and perseverance in therapy. Youlanda shared with us that she is THRILLED to be back singing karaoke!!💙

We are so thrilled to have the opportunity to work with people like Youlanda and share this amazing success story.💙✨
