Congratulations to Carly, registered nurse at Avera Granite Falls. She is the most recent recipient of the quarterly DAISY Award in the Avera Marshall region.

Carly was nominated by Shawna, a nurse from Avera Marshall who received care for a medical emergency at Avera Granite Falls. She wrote, “As a nurse, I’m not used to being on the receiving end of care but at that moment, I found myself vulnerable and in need. Carly’s compassion, empathy and attention to detail were evident in every action. She was proactive in initiating treatment, executing interventions quickly to provide relief, and offering comfort measures before I realized I needed them. Her professionalism and heartfelt care not only eased a difficult experience but also reminded me why I chose this profession.”

The DAISY program honors and celebrates the skillful and compassionate care nurses provide. It is active in many health care organizations around the world.

Avera Granite Falls Clinic will be closing at 12pm today, December 24th, and will be closed tomorrow, December 25th. There will be no Saturday Clinic on December 27th.

The Avera Granite Falls Ambulance has been busy during this holiday season, a Thanksgiving potluck for the staff at work, Community Christmas ornament decorating with the Grinch, and Solstice celebration on Prentice. A special thank you to Angie for organizing many of these events and to the rest of the crew who helped with operations. We are thankful for the relationships we have with our co-workers and our community. Happy Holidays!

We recently welcomed Scena Dethlefs, LICSW, to our team at Avera Granite Falls! Scena is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and also holds an Alcohol and Drug Counseling certification.
