The Big Stone Therapies Granite Falls babies have arrived! 👶👶👶👶👶

Staffing the department may have been a bit stressful, but the future therapist pipeline is looking very strong! FAMILY is one of BST's core values - we support each other like family and enjoy watching each other's families grow. Thanks to our amazing therapists who put in extra hours these past few months to meet our patients' needs 🤍

To celebrate the return of all these new moms, we'll be holding a FREE screening event on August 19th - stay tuned for more details to come! 🎉

Jennifer Jager and Seth Streblow, leaders with the Avera Granite Falls Ambulance, had the opportunity to attend the Medical Transport Leadership Institute in June, completing the two-year program and earning their certificates as Certified Medical Transport Executives. They shared their gratitude to Avera Granite Falls and Administrator Tom Kooiman for the investment in this education and for Avera’s commitment to supporting and reinforcing ambulance services in the Marshall region. Congrats, Jen and Seth! Thank you for your dedication to rural emergency care!

Thank you to everyone who took part in the 2025 Western Fest celebrations! Our Avera Granite Falls Ambulance burger feed fundraiser was well attended and supported -- despite a rainy afternoon -- and a good time was had by all! We appreciate the opportunity to see the smiles of those who join us each year for a meal and a fun time together.

The ambulance crew recently had a visit from Lynette and Lon Manee. They came to meet the people who helped during their emergency. Just over a year ago, Lon experienced sudden cardiac arrest. When the ambulance arrived, he was in asystole, a sometimes-lethal cardiac rhythm. The crew's quick thinking and hard work achieved Return of Spontaneous Circulation (ROSC). Lon explained that his provider told him it is very rare to survive such an event and even more rare with the heart rhythm he had. He suffered no permanent deficits from the event and even went deer hunting this past fall. He and his wife were extremely grateful for the teamwork between the hospital and ambulance staff that saved his life. They spent time visiting cheerfully and laughing with the staff about the events and stories of the last year. It was refreshing to be able to spend some time celebrating the positive impact of this event on all people involved.
