Saturday we went to the place where block is made to see and learn to make block. It was a good field trip. We also learned of some families needing homes in that area. Nearby was some of the poorest conditions we have seen. Afterwards we had lunch with melvins family and returned to santa Cecilia. We were able to complete the block work.
Sunday
We went to church. The children did a great job and as always it was a great service. Brad promised not to throw a frog out the window( pastor Lynn N Becky Parsons). Sunday afternoon we had our soccer tournament. Prior we taught them flag football americano. They had a great time. This event seems to bring unity to the village every year.
Today we will work on the temporary roof for the house and in the afternoon we will visit life promise ministries. Please pray for good health, strength and endurance. Til next time, brad

Well. My last post did not post so I will update for you guys. Saturday we went to Melvin s family and learned how block was made and some actually made block. Melvins dad took us thru the village and it has very poor living conditions. There are two people that need a house. We had lunch with the family and afterwards we went to santa Cecilia and were able to get all the block layed.
Sunday we went to church and as always it was a great experience. The kids performed this year and did great. Afterwards we had our soccer tournament and community outreach. We had 46 players. The event always seems to bring unity to the community
Monday we built trusses and set posts. After lunch we went to Convista to help Life Promise ministries with food bags and build some playground equipment for the pregnancy care center. Really good day!
Tuesday we went to los lemones to see elvida's family. Great news, they want to move to Santa Cecilia. We spent the morning with them and ate lunch with them. Afterwards we went to Llane Verde and spent time with the kids.
Wednesday we finished the roof on the house and the pastor put the door up at the school. Thankfully we finished the work we needed to get done. As always, goodbyes took a while but the afternoon was great. Tomorrow we head home. Pray for safe travel. See you soon

Great day yesterday. We got the footers poured. We were grateful for cloud cover and a breeze. Cement has to be mixed by hand and reinforcement rebar has to be made on site so the process can be long. Today we will take a field trip to see how block is made and this afternoon we will begin laying block. Pray for continued strength and endurance and opportunities to share the gospel. Like A Rock. We got the footers dug out yesterday. It took all day and it was very hard work, but the team did great. 1/2 the house is on rock so it took a while. All I could think of is the parable of building a house on solid ground. Today we will mix and pour concrete. I also hope to lay bloque. Please pray for strength and endurance as well as peace.

We finished the wall to mount the school door yesterday. Everyone is beginning to hit their stride. As we finished at the school a family arrived and asked about a house. They had actually asked for help several years ago but we were unable to do anything. After talking with them I knew that this is the family to help. Why you ask? Prior to the trip I had been thinking on how to start a house project for another family that would allow them to live in it and continue building as they could. Well, that is exactly what Jose and Andrea asked for. They didn't ask us for a turn key house. Jose just needed help to start ( foundation and 2 course bloque)and have a roof. So today we will begin digging footers and pouring concrete. Pray for strength and team work today. Til next time. Brad

Good first day. As always, things change once you get your feet on the ground. But we adapt to the needs of the people around us. There is a need for homes to be built but the current "home" would need to be torn down. This is something we will need help with on our next trip. We don't want to tear down and leave these families with only a partially built house til next year. These homes need to be constructed within the 10 days we are usually in Santa Cecilia. Today we will finish a lil project at the school and do bible school with the children. We will also begin packaging food for distribution. Pray for us to see Gods direction and for opportunities to share more about him. Til next time, brad

Its almost time 4 more days and it will be here. June 10th 2017, Saturday Ride for THE Cause (motorcycle ride) and RFTC Auto show. Ride for THE Cause begins at CrossRoads Harley-Davidson (1921 US HWY 421 WILKESBORO, NORTH CAROLINA 28697) registration 9:00-10:00. Your registration includes track time, lunch, goody bag and raffle prizes. 10:15 - 11:30 : Wilkesboro Dragway, 11:30 - 12:30 Ride on the parkway, 12:45 - 2:00 @ Day 3 Lunch, Live Music, Silent Auction, Car Show, & Raffle Prizes. Entry is $20 for rider and $10 for passenger. Josh Foust Memorial ride and Guatemala Fundraiser

Also going on the same day is RFTC Auto Show it begins at Day 3 Church registration at 10:00 pre judging at 11:30, Motorcycles roll in at 12:30 as well as Lunch, Silent Auction, Live Music, Raffle, and Awards. Entry is $20. RFTC Auto Show is a Guatemala Mission Project Fundraiser.
