Marshall Medical Centers Prepares for Major Electronic Medical Record Conversion

Marshall Medical Centers will soon complete an important step forward in patient care with the implementation of a new electronic medical record (EMR) system. After more than a year of planning, training, and preparation, the organization will begin transitioning from its current CPSI system to the same EMR system used by Huntsville Hospital Health System -known as the Oracle 1Chart - beginning Friday, February 27th.

This new system will enhance how patient information is shared and accessed across the Huntsville Hospital Health System - supporting more coordinated, efficient, and seamless care throughout the region. Patients will now have a single medical record number that will be used at Marshall Medical Centers and at Huntsville Hospital and other hospitals and departments using Oracle 1Chart. This transition represents a significant investment in technology designed to improve clinical decision-making, patient safety and overall care experience.

Because this type of system conversion is complex, Marshall Medical Centers is asking patients and families for understanding during the transition period. Some processes may take slightly longer than usual as staff members work carefully to ensure accurate and safe information transfer.

Marshall Medical Centers appreciates the community’s patience and support as this important upgrade is completed.

The Safe to Sleep® campaign, led by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), helps parents and caregivers learn simple ways to protect babies during sleep — reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related deaths.

Since beginning in 1994 as the Back to Sleep® campaign, this important initiative has helped save thousands of babies’ lives through education and awareness. 💗

👉 Safe sleep tips every parent should know:
✅ Always place baby on their back to sleep — for naps and at night.
✅ Use a firm, flat sleep surface (like a crib or bassinet).
✅ Keep soft items, blankets, and toys out of the sleep area.
✅ Share a room, not a bed — keep baby close but in their own safe space.

A few small steps can make a big difference in keeping your baby safe. Learn more about SIDS and safe sleep practices at https://safetosleep.nichd.nih.gov

👶 Let’s help every baby sleep safely. 💕
