Went IG MIA in August. It wasn’t planned. I was just burned out of social media and “content creation”. That’s what sometimes gets weird about the media we call “social”. It feels like something we have to fabricate. So if you’re feeling like the grind is grinding on you, sometimes stepping away is the best way to gain purpose again. Happy Sunday to all and happy 5th birthday (yesterday) to my favorite girl, Dipper ❤️🐾🫶

Mornings and mindfulness ☀️ our plan for today mostly includes spending time outside, a run later (for me), hiding from the fireworks (for Dipper🐾), and ignoring the fireworks but barking at the faint sound of a dog a half mile away (for Brickle🐾).

I sent our email list a few easy tips for Doing Food Right this holiday weekend. Intentionality is key even when the intention is fun and enjoyment. If you didn’t get the email but want to, shoot me a message and I’ll share it 🙌

Got this text from my high school xc coach 😭

I truly don’t know what my life would be like now without her influence on me and the sport🏃‍♀️ is about far more than women’s sports. But women’s sports are far more because of title IX.

🏃🏻‍♂️I get it, you're the athlete always trying to be better.
♾️If some training is good, more must be better. Your rival is posting workouts on 👟Strava, so your workouts need to be faster.
💪Your coach tells you to do 3x15 squats so you make sure you're doing 3x18 just for good measure.

But to be the runner you're trying to be, your nutrition needs to match the training.

Pushing yourself in training is awesome.

But if you are chronically , the workouts will catch up with you and you'll be as flat and broken down as a pile of Jenga brick rubble after the epic crash.

So to for runners, caloric and macro-nutrient adequacy is a top priority. If you're stretching your nutrition too thin, the rest won't matter.

Are you ready to ? I have 5 spots available this summer in my Get Food Fit for Distance and Mid-Distance Runners program.
In 12 weeks, you'll go from "ready to crumble like a weak-based Jenga tower" to "solid nutrition foundation for miles".
You will know how much food your body needs day-to-day to support your training, how to eat pre- and post-workout, and what to eat on race day to be your best.

If you're planning a fall goal race, a cross country season, or even if you're racing in the summer and need to tune up your nutrition plan, now is the time to invest in your running success 🥇

Hey athlete fam, IG is faster-paced than 100m runners at nationals so I'm re-introducing myself.

I'm Courtney 👋 I grew up in the Lehigh Valley and was a swimmer from a young age. When I got to high school a friend convinced me to go out for track and cross country. Something clicked. I loved racing and training. I loved long runs with my best friends.
I eventually went to Messiah University where my team and I made NCAA nationals my freshman year in cross country.

My college running career had its ups and downs but ended on a high note with PRs in every event on the track my senior year (another story for another day!)

I still love competing and training all these years later (though it happens less often).

How does this all tie in with my work as a dietitian?
Food and nutrition have always been about helping me perform well. Having the energy to have an amazing practice, knowing how to hydrate on 95 degree hill runs in the summer, and even the team bonding that happened over team meals in college have all been so important to my success as an athlete.

While I've never done a steeplechase on the track (😐klutz alert) my specialty is helping you overcome your own barriers in nutrition + sport.

Working with me on nutrition doesn't mean you'll be perfect or in love with nutrition. It doesn't mean you have to shop at the health food store or give up dessert.

Working with me means you will learn to align your eating with your training so you feel great and perform even better than ever.

Omg I batch made these chocolate protein smoothies (no protein powder in this one, just food) and I love having breakfast made and ready in the fridge and they’re so darn delicious 🤤

Runners tell me all the time that they want to eat nourishing food but when push comes to shove and time is crunched, they may skip or skimp or just grab something that doesn’t make them feel awesome.

The Get Food Fit online coaching provides individualized plans and recommendations to make sure you can fuel deliciously and in a way that feels amazing.

If you’re tired of winging it, book a Getting Started call to see if we’re a good fit.
