Our Full-Time Preschool program offers a nurturing, play-based learning environment where children ages 3–5 can explore, create, and grow.

Through activities like open-ended art, sensory exploration, STEM, and outdoor play, kids build foundational skills in a fun and engaging way.

Guided by caring staff in a state-licensed program, children develop confidence, curiosity, and social connections that prepare them for lifelong learning.

Our Arts Mentor Program (AMP) is off and running for the summer. This is our inaugural season, and these young, talented artists will be creating a vivid and exciting mural outside the courtyard at the YMCA. We wouldn't be able to run this without the support of Grants Pass Painting, the Carpenter Foundation and our resident artist Ash Wissler.

Safe Sitter® is a nationally recognized program designed to teach youth how to be safe, confident, and prepared caregivers. Whether they're watching siblings or babysitting for neighbors, Safe Sitter® helps young teens build the skills they need to care for children responsibly.

What Participants Learn:
Basic child care skills (feeding, diapering, behavior management)
CPR and choking rescue (hands-on practice with mannequins)
Safety and first aid
How to handle emergencies
Life and business skills for babysitting jobs

Safe Sitter® is more than just babysitting—it’s about empowering youth with knowledge, responsibility, and confidence they’ll carry into many areas of life.

Recommended for youth ages 11–14.

Empowering our community in Grants Pass

As the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to helping people and communities to learn, grow and thrive, our contributions are both far-reaching and intimate—from influencing our nation’s culture during times of profound social change to the individual support we provide an adult learning to read.

By empowering young people to reach their full potential, improving individual and community well-being and giving back and inspiring action in our communities, the Y ensures that everyone has the opportunity to become healthier, more confident, connected and secure.
