Today is one of those beautiful Appalachian days that reminds me why Mother Maiden Crone was created here in Grantsville. 🌿

The birds are singing from the loft above the apothecary, the sheep are grazing peacefully in the pasture, chickens and roosters are wandering the barnyard, and the rolling mountains are standing quietly in the background like they always have.

There is something healing about slowing down long enough to hear the wind move through the trees.

At Mother Maiden Crone, healing was never meant to feel rushed or sterile. It was meant to feel grounded. Familiar. Safe. Like taking a deep breath after carrying too much for too long.

There’s something extra cozy about setting up for a massage session on a rainy day. 🌧️✨

Fresh linens, warm oils, soft lighting, calming music… transforming a space into a place for rest and recovery is part of the ritual I love most.

While mobile massage isn’t something I widely advertise or offer for general booking, I do continue to provide select in-home and on-location experiences for established clients, referral-based care, Timber Rock Village cabin guests, corporate wellness events, retreats, promotions, and special group gatherings.

I’ve always believed healing and relaxation can happen anywhere when intention, presence, and care are brought into the space.

At Mother Maiden Crone, I believe massage is more than relaxation — it’s a way to help the body feel safe enough to soften, release tension, and regulate the nervous system. One of my favorite ways to support that process is through the addition of CBD-enhanced massage products during sessions.

🌿 WHAT IS CBD?
CBD (Cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring compound found in the h**p plant. Unlike THC, CBD is non-intoxicating, meaning it does not create a “high.” Instead, CBD has been widely studied for its potential role in supporting relaxation, discomfort management, inflammation response, and nervous system balance.

The body contains something called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) — a communication system involved in mood, sleep, stress response, pain perception, and overall balance within the body. CBD interacts with this system to help encourage homeostasis, or internal balance.

✨ WHY DOES 1000 MG MATTER?
The strength of a CBD product matters. A 1000 MG product contains a higher concentration of CBD throughout the bottle, allowing for a more noticeable therapeutic experience when used consistently or during focused massage work.

I am honored to become the private on-site massage therapist for Timber Rock Village guests, offering therapeutic massage, restorative wellness experiences, and luxury bodywork services directly within the resort experience.

This partnership creates something truly unique for Deep Creek Lake:

Scars are more than skin deep.

After surgery, burns, injury, or trauma, scar tissue can create restriction between the layers of skin, fascia, muscle, and connective tissue. Over time this may contribute to tightness, pulling, pain, sensitivity, limited movement, swelling, and compensation patterns throughout the body.

One of the ways I support scar rehabilitation in therapeutic massage sessions is through specialized cupping techniques known as myofascial decompression.

Instead of pressing down into tissue, cupping gently lifts and decompresses the tissue layers to help improve mobility, circulation, fascial glide, and movement around restricted areas.

This work is often paired with:

✨ scar mobilization
✨ manual lymphatic techniques
✨ movement-based therapy
✨ nervous system regulation
✨ focused recovery care

The rehabilitation world is shifting toward more collaborative, whole-body recovery approaches — where massage therapists, PTs, PCPs, and rehabilitation providers work together to support better healing and long-term function.

Hi, I’m Tiffany; owner of Mother Maiden Crone Apothecary & Bodywork Shop, Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki practitioner, wife, mother of five, and someone deeply passionate about caring for others through intentional touch and holistic wellness.

For those who may be new here, I wanted to take a moment to properly introduce myself and share the heart behind this business.

I graduated from Allegheny College of Maryland in 2024 with my Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapy, becoming the first person in my family to graduate college. My journey into massage therapy came from a deep desire to help people feel seen, supported, and cared for — not just physically, but emotionally and energetically as well.

Before opening my practice, I spent many years balancing motherhood, family life, business management, and caring for others in every way I knew how. Massage therapy gave me something incredibly meaningful: a way to nurture and provide healing for my community while still being present for my own family.

Mother Maiden Crone was created from that vision.

The name represents the stages of life, the wisdom and transformation we experience, and the importance of caring for ourselves through every season. Whether someone comes to me for pain relief, stress reduction, recovery, emotional grounding, relaxation, or simply a safe space to breathe — my goal is always the same: to create an environment where people feel cared for.

What started as a small dream has continued to grow into something I could have never imagined. From my cozy backwoods Grantsville location to now expanding into Deep Creek, this journey has been built through community support, trust, and word of mouth from incredible clients who continue to believe in what I do.

Looking toward the future, I hope to continue expanding Mother Maiden Crone into a space that blends therapeutic massage, nervous system support, energy work, education, and holistic wellness experiences in a way that feels both grounding and restorative.
