No matter what type of birth you experienced the toll it takes on mom and baby will be present. It can’t be skipped or worked around. Even the most peaceful births are hard work.
Which makes it so important, in our opinion, that the nervous system is functioning optimally to help mom and baby transition from birth into postpartum (and beyond) as effortlessly as possible.
At the end of the day - the more optimally the nervous system is adapting to these demands the more resilient it will be to shift into thriving.
Moms nervous system just went though the biggest whirlwind it can. Testing the very boundaries of what it could integrate to bring a precious baby into the world straight into a massive shift in hormones which is then followed up by a completely new (often briefly chaotic) routine of life with a new human (maybe for the first time)!!!
For baby it’s just as challenging! Being birthed is no small feat for our littles. One moment they are nice and cozy, warm, and physically connected to the only person they’ve ever known. The next they are getting pushed (or pulled) out of that coziness into a blindingly bright, cold environment where EVERYTHING is new. The temperature, the light, the smells, the sensations, all of it being felt all at once for the very first time. Oh, and they are physically no longer attached to their person and need to work for food! Whew!
The point here is that there is so much going on for mom and baby that when the nervous system is functioning at/as close to its optimal as it can so that these very sensitive time periods have the ability to happen with more ease.
Not easy, just with more ease.
With more connection and the foundation for mom to start her healing journey & baby to start their growth journey as optimally as possible.
Supporting each mother and supporting each baby in CLAIMING THEIR GOD-GIVEN ABILITY TO THRIVE is what we are here for!
It would be our honor to care for you, your baby, & your family.
