Having moved from Austin where birth centers are alive and well, this momma was excited to just stay home this time, her third go around. However, halfway through her pregnancy, shortly after they moved here, we discovered her babe has a heart defect, and ultimately would need to be in Childen’s soon after birth. Home was no longer an option. We pulled together a great team and yesterday labor started…. Once active it scooted right along. She labored amazing and he was born about 90 min after we got to the hospital. He also did great! She got 20min of snuggles and off to Nicu he went to prepare for his first trip across town. Welcome little one!

Back on the saddle…. With first time parents who did a great job yesterday laboring their daughter earthside. She weighed 7lb 3oz and was pure perfection. I am curious how many people were born on a Feb 12? I feel like I’ve caught a lot of babies over the years on this date!
