Not knowing what to do in a session doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.

It usually means you’re in the part of the work that isn’t clear yet.

The instinct is to fix it.
But not every moment needs to be filled.

A question for fellow clinicians:
When did you last show up for your own body image work—not as a therapist, but as yourself?

On May 13th at 6 PM CST, I’m offering a free live webinar: Body Image for Clinicians: Doing Our Own Work.
For 90 minutes, we’ll focus on the real, personal work—the kind we regularly support in clients, but often set aside in our own lives.

It’s free and hosted on Zoom.

Some of your most capable clients aren’t struggling because they lack insight.
They’re struggling because the strategy that once worked—overfunctioning—is no longer sustainable.
If we only help them optimize that pattern, we risk reinforcing the very thing that’s burning them out.
Sometimes the work isn’t helping them do more.
It’s helping them carry less.

A question for my fellow therapists and clinicians:
When did you last tend to your own relationship with your body — not as a clinician, but as a person?
I'm hosting a free live webinar on May 13th at 6 PM CST called Body Image for Clinicians: Doing Our Own Work. It's 90 minutes of real, honest work — the kind we hold space for in our clients but rarely carve out for ourselves.
It's free. It's on Zoom. And it's for you.

We’re trained to see patterns.
To name what’s not working.
To understand quickly.

But insight alone doesn’t create change.

People don’t shift because we’re right.
They shift when something in the room feels safe enough to soften.

That’s the work.

What if the problem isn’t your body?

What if it’s the trance we’ve all been taught to live inside?

Tracking. Fixing. Starting over.
Over and over again.

I made something to help you step outside of that.

It’s a gentle place to begin.

What if the problem isn’t your body?

In This Body: A Women’s Poetry Night is an evening of poetry and reflection about living inside our bodies — the complicated, beautiful, human experience of it all.

Not a lecture.
Not a workshop.
Just words, stories, and women gathered together.

If something in you has been wanting a space like this, I hope you’ll come.

Join us for an intimate, women-only poetry night exploring body image, healing, and reclaiming your inherent worth and beauty.
