☃️❄️Weather Update ❄️☃️

Due to continued icy roads, Optimum Therapy will be closed again tomorrow, 1/27/26, to keep our staff and families safe.
We are hopeful to return to our regular schedule on Wednesday. All patients have been contacted for rescheduling.

❄️ Get on those boots, gloves, and snow clothes and head out for some therapy fun❄️

Fresh snow is the perfect (and free!) therapy tool. Here are simple activities you can do outside in the snow that support Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy goals—all through play!

🖐️ Occupational Therapy (OT)
• Build a snowman or snow animals to work on hand strength and bilateral coordination
• Scoop, pack, and dump snow using cups or shovels for fine motor control
• Put on and take off winter gear (gloves, boots, coats) to practice dressing skills

🏃 Physical Therapy (PT)
• Walk, stomp, and run through the snow to challenge balance and strength
• Climb small snow piles or hills for lower-extremity strengthening
• Throw snowballs at targets to work on coordination and postural control

🗣️ Speech Therapy (ST)
• Practice action words: throw, roll, pack, push, stomp
• Follow one-step and multi-step directions during snow play
• Describe the snow using sensory words (cold, wet, crunchy, slippery)

Snow can turn everyday movement into meaningful therapy—and kids don’t even realize they’re working! ❄️☃️
Stay warm and safe out there friends! We can't wait to hear about all the fun you had in the snow!

As we wrap up 2025, we want to say THANK YOU to our incredible kiddos, families, and therapists for trusting us and allowing us to be part of so many meaningful journeys. This year was filled with progress, hard work, milestones, and big wins for our kids, and we are so grateful for every smile along the way. We are looking forward to the growing, the progress, and all that 2026 has to offer! ✨💙
