Smoothie season is here! I’ve often thought it’s better to skip the banana due to its high sugar content, but I was surprised to learn that an enzyme in banana reduces the absorption of the beneficial flavanol in berries! Instead, “boost your flavanol intake with a smoothie, you should combine flavanol-rich fruits like berries with foods that have a low polyphenol oxidase activity like pineapple, oranges, mango, or yogurt.” Mango is my favorite, I blend it with lemon, cucumber, spinach and coconut water.

Bananas might be sabotaging your smoothie’s health punch.

Please join us in welcoming Jasmine Noble to Whitewater Naturopathic as our new front desk receptionist.

Last winter after thirteen years with us, our beloved Nickie moved to Bakersfield to work for Western Steam and Power. She is thriving in her new life, with her great sense of humor and awe. We will miss her!

Jasmine hails from the Green Mountain State of Vermont. She moved to Nevada County to attend the California College of Ayurveda in 2016, where she met her husband David. They are family centered, raising their 3 children together. Jasmine is delighted to be back in healthcare and working at Whitewater Naturopathic. She looks forward to meeting and greeting you all!

Jasmine is available Monday to Thursday
