When the qi and blood are stuck there is pain.
There is pain because the Qi and blood are stuck.
How and where is your Qi and blood stuck?

So, about 2 1/2 years ago I started seeing lights shooting out of acupuncture points. This was interesting. Turns out we indeed have a light body. And portals is a better word than points. I'm convinced it's a major part of our signaling system. And it's very relevant that acupuncture interacts with this system. Oh and red light. Seems to amplify mitochondrial function.

Does the body communicate using light? Living cells emit tiny flashes of ultraweak light called biophotons, and the deeper question is whether that light is ...

There are some things I think about everyday. Once upon a time I was a freshly graduated acupuncture student. We took one of the first flights out of LA to Beijing after 911 shut the skies down.
And we got to Beijing and there was culture shock of course, but after awhile you fall into the rhythm of a place. We were there to observe acupuncture doctors doing their thing. It was dr. Wong and her crew I'll never forget. Her crew was an assistant who took the needles out and hooked them up to the estim. And did the cupping. Her specialty was stroke recovery and spinal cord injuries. She had four tables and had an amazing flow. Did I tell you this assistant of hers only had one and half arms. Oh and it was his job to do the fire cupping. Specifically a style of cupping called flash cupping. This can only be accomplished with 91 percent or higher alcohol for the big flame necessary for the quick action, because in this style of cupping the cup only sits very briefly, then it is removed quickly, deftly, and if correct makes a popping sound and sends shockwaves through the tissue. And this guy was getting big pops every time.

(Tell me your experience with cupping , particularly I want to know if you ever had "Flash cupping")

By the end of the session fours had passed and shed seen at least 30 people maybe. I was inspired on so many levels that day.
Acupuncture is medicine for the people.
Flash cupping is my preferred style of cupping post acupuncture.
This is a major driver for my morning drop in clinic. To honestly say I've made the most of my life. I feel called to do this work, and I know not everybody can afford the boutique one on one sessions.
I think about that morning almost every clinic

Our nervous systems are running electricity , fed by heart beats and the piezoelectric effect of the fascial expansion, pulses through ion channels

Little sensors

Channeling signals

As you go through life, the pains, the tensions, the traumas, the injuries, the lost sleep the ups and downs of the emotional rollercoaster, the dogged persistence of the set of tensions you identify and interface with reality becomes entrenched, allowing only a diminished expression of true self
But what if you could reset?
What if you could allow your tissues to learn to reset
What if you could return to in tune.
Well that would be good
That's what acupuncture, herbs, qi gong, tui na.... all the modalities add up to supporting that.
Come for acupuncture. Get curious. Sing a better version of your song.

i'm currently obsessed with neurovascular bundles. i was doing research about my nano pen applied to fascia release, curious about tendomuscular junctions, which seem to act like control points for relaxing muscles. and in this quest ion of what is happening, i happened upon research into the overlap of acupuncture points and neurovascular bundles. these are little spikes off of the main branch of nerves up to surface wrapped with fascia, couple to vessels opening up to a kind of portal hole opening at the skin.
this image really informs the quantum palpation, so as i palpate and feel these little portals, certain of them seem particularly energetically interesting. when they are in need of signal they have a decidedly low resistance, we would call these a reactive acupuncture point.
in this new vision it becomes clear that channel is the right word and meridian is foolish. Signal is generated and coupled to this neurovascular bundle via the little connective tissue portal. furthermore, it's of course, not only reached via acupuncture, but is really an active component of our homeostatic mechanism. responding to touch, to stretch, to subtle meditative influences.
to learn more book in for a session, or tune in on Mondays in my Ask the acupuncturist sessions and we can explore more.

A few months ago I started working with microneedle pen in a new way. I originally got the instrument for micro needling facial beauty treatments. However, what I realized was that this tool because of it's piezoelectric percussive effects would be amazing for applying to those areas that are characterized by stiffness in the connective tissue and scar tissue. After working with several patients in this way for tight fascia and chronic tension and getting incredible feedback, i'm taking it public and offering it as a service. I'm offering 1/2 hour and hour long sessions.
If you want to learn more, book in for a consultation or check out my Ask the Acupuncturist session.

Every BODY needs acupuncture. I'm on a mission to be Nevada County's friendly neighborhood Acupuncturist. I'm offering sliding scale drop in acupuncture tune ups from 9-12. I want to lower the barrier of access to quality acupuncture. I've been doing this for 25 years and I'm continuously amazed with this practice . In my space I can see up to four people in 40 minute waves. This offering it's for people who are going to benefit from regular care or who don't have the time or resources for the more in depth one on one sessions that generally require more downtime. And unlike a lot of community style clinics that use chairs I have tables so I can work more holistically.
