Simply put, kurinuki is a Japanese term referring
to the handbuilding technique of starting with a solid block of clay and hollowing it out to create an interior.

This day-long workshop is where art meets mindfulness!
Join us for a unique workshop that encourages you to delve into the creativity of kurinuki techniques to create your own unique version of a carved lidded vessel.

It’s a lovely meditative process that allows for tremendous creativity.

The day will begin with making ceramic spoons to warm up your hands and introduce you to the language of clay. Followed by an hour immersion of therapeutic yoga and movement designed to
drop you into the quiet, meditative space of creativity.

Then we will gather for a delicious light lunch made for you. Followed by the hands-on portion of the workshop where you will be taught how to make your personalized Kurinuki lidded vessel.

Held at a private studio in Nevada City.

Today I’m flying low and I’m not saying a word. I’m letting all the voodoo’s of ambition sleep.

The world goes on as it must, the bees in the garden rumbling a little, the fish leaping, the gnats getting eaten. And so forth.

But I am taking the day off. Quiet as a feather. I hardly move though really I’m traveling a terrific distance.
