A couple of weeks back, one of our former patients stopped by the clinic with his game jersey from this year of playing in the European Professional Leagues! We are so proud of what O’Showen is doing and hope he is playing well in the Mexican leagues this summer! 🙌🏻

A huge Congratulations to our ATHLETES OF THE MONTH for April 🙌🏻 These two students were nominated by their coaches based on their academic standing, community service, leadership abilities, and athletic accomplishments!

Alicia Chen: Alicia is a phenomenal person both on and off the field. Her family moved to Jones County a year ago and in such a short time she has already made a huge impact in our community. Alicia sings and plays guitar in the praise band at her church, she is an active member in FCA, plays soccer, and remains a straight A student. Alicia is a great athlete with incredible leadership skills. We are so blessed to have her here and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the next couple of years as a Greyhound.

Kalyb Durden: Kalyb is a 4 year member of the boys’ varsity tennis team and a standout both on and off the court. This season, he earned 1st team All-Region honors. His senior year was filled with hard work, consistency, and competitive excellence. One of this most memorable achievements came when he battled through the longest match of the season. Because of his determination and mental toughness, he came out victorious! Kaleb was 8-1 for the season, making him the most successful boys player this year. Kalyb is a natural leader who brings positivity to his team everyday. He takes his commitment to the tennis team very seriously while he also works up to 40 hours a week at his job and helping his younger brother to learn the game of tennis. He excels academically and is a proud member of the Beta club and has earned several college credits while in high school. Kalyb truly represents the values of leadership, sportsmanship and determination!

On Tuesday our interns had the opportunity to volunteer at the FPD Special Olympics. They had a wonderful time serving the community around them, and even got to see some familiar faces!!

A huge Congratulations to our ATHLETES OF THE MONTH for March 🙌🏻 These two students were nominated by their coaches based on their academic standing, community service, leadership abilities, and athletic accomplishments!

Sarah Davis: Sarah led the Lady Hounds golfers in scoring average (45 per 9 hole round) in February and became the team’s number one ranked golfer. She led her team to a 2-1 record. Sarah consistently stays after practice to work on her game and goes to the golf course every day of the week. She is a straight A student and a model student in the hallways and in the classroom. She is a proud Christian and a great role model to her peers and teammates. She volunteers for many community projects to give back to the less fortunate. Sarah is a devoted daughter to her mom and dad and such a coachable player.

Gavin Simon: Gavin Simon is a junior for the Greyhound baseball team. Gavin’s dedication to his craft on the field is one that is rarely seen in athletes his age. Gavin has helped the Greyhound both offensively in the lead off spot and defensively, making some spectacular plays in left field. Gavin is the definition of what it means to be a student athlete as he gets it done on the field and the classroom.
