What an incredible experience leading a session at the Louisiana College Counseling Association 2025 Summer Workshop!

I had the honor of presenting, “You Can’t Pour From an Empty Self: Restoring the Counselor Within,” and was joined by an amazing co-presenter, Nyoshi Smith who brought such valuable insight to the room.

This workshop was created to pour back into the person behind the profession, the helper—to explore what sustainable self-care really looks like for counselors. We talked rhythms, nervous system regulation, and how to honor your limits without guilt.

Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged so fully. And thank you, LCCA, for creating space for these much-needed conversations.
