Reasons Pelvic Floor PT is a MUST after having a baby
(no matter whether 2 months or 12 yrs post partum!)
Restore before baby posture and muscle function (addressing areas like abdominals, upper back muscles, chest muscles, lower back muscles, buttocks)
Improve / restore good deep breathing abilities
Optimize child care and feeding positioning and body mechanics
Improve and learn self treatment for scar tissue mobility
Learn how to improve bladder control to avoid peeing too frequently during the day or nighttime.
Have your pelvic floor muscles assessed (if desired) to learn how to self treat sore or tight muscles to prevent pain with in*******se, prolonged sitting/standing, exercise, or any other activities of daily living that pelvic pain may limit you from completing.
Learn how to retrain and strengthen the pelvic floor and surrounding hip muscles to prevent urinary leakage with jumping, bending, coughing, sneezing, laughing
GLR’s pelvic floor therapists recommend 4-6 visits post partum, but even one can make a huge difference! Visits can be attended with child(ren) and can be in person or telehealth if needed.
