Thank you to the students at Grayslake Central High School for creating self-care kits for young people receiving mental health therapy from CYN therapists in Lake County Schools and in our CYN Counseling Center.

Each kit includes sensory items and reminders of the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding practice, tools our therapists use to help youth pause, regulate, and refocus. Curious to learn the technique? Check out our bonus Wednesday Wellness.

At Grayslake Central High School, the spirit of service is alive and growing. During the first week back from winter break, students transformed their Rams Block period into something truly special - two days dedicated to giving back.

It was a great opportunity to connect with students exploring careers in Human and Public Services, hear about their Community Civics projects, and spend time talking honestly about career paths, purpose, and the real work behind serving a community. Always encouraging to see students thinking seriously about how they want to make an impact.

WELCOME TO CYN COUNSELING CENTER!

CYN Counseling Center is a Lake County, Illinois nonprofit community counseling agency. For over 40 years our mission has remained to preserve and strengthen families while protecting children from abusive or high-risk situations. CYN works to transform the lives of our most vulnerable and at-risk youth, families and adults and collaborate with area organizations to address complicated issues and create lasting change.

OUR VISION: A society where mental health issues and concerns are not stigmatized, where all citizens have access to quality mental health services when needed, where all people are treated with dignity and respect, and where everyone can get the support, tools, and resources they need to grow and thrive.

CYN began as a case coordination agency for the most complex cases of child abuse. Today, we are a comprehensive mental health center, accessible to all. By providing counseling, psychotherapy, assessment, specialized treatment, prevention programs, case work services, and community education, our goals are to:
