Small pauses matter! These moments might seem too small to count. But they do. They give your brain space. They reset your focus. They remind you that you're a person and not just a list of responsibilities.
Build them in where you can. You don’t have to earn rest.

After the storms this week, maybe you're feeling a little unsettled. The sky’s been unpredictable. So have our routines.
Power flickered. Schedules shifted. That sense of control we try to hold onto? It probably wavered.
It’s a reminder that we’re affected by more than just our to-do lists. Weather, like stress, builds slowly. It can pass just as quietly, but not without leaving a mark.
Let this week be a cue to reset.

CYN Counseling Center is a Lake County, Illinois nonprofit community counseling agency. For over 40 years our mission has remained to preserve and strengthen families while protecting children from abusive or high-risk situations. CYN works to transform the lives of our most vulnerable and at-risk youth, families and adults and collaborate with area organizations to address complicated issues and create lasting change.
OUR MISSION: To preserve and strengthen families while protecting children from abusive or high-risk situations.
OUR VISION: A society where mental health issues and concerns are not stigmatized, where all citizens have access to quality mental health services when needed, where all people are treated with dignity and respect, and where everyone can get the support, tools, and resources they need to grow and thrive.
CYN began as a case coordination agency for the most complex cases of child abuse. Today, we are a comprehensive mental health center, accessible to all. By providing counseling, psychotherapy, assessment, specialized treatment, prevention programs, case work services, and community education, our goals are to:
Increase access to needed mental health treatment.Foster improved mental health through counseling, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, community education, & prevention services.
Reduce unnecessary entry into the juvenile justice, child welfare, or mental health systems.
Promote partnerships among community service providers to reduce duplication of services and cultivate healthier communities.
