✨ Happy Juneteenth from Necco Foster Care! ✨

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, the oldest nationally recognized commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. On this day in 1865, freedom finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder that freedom and justice have not always come easily—and that the journey toward equity continues. It’s a day of reflection, education, and celebration of Black culture, history, and resilience.

At Necco Foster Care, we are committed to building a future where every child is safe, loved, and free to be who they are. That means listening, learning, and advocating for change—not just today, but every day.
