We had six individuals participate in our first Open Studio class, and it was a great success! This introductory session focused on the three basic ceramic techniques—pinch pot, coil, and slab work—giving everyone a chance to get hands-on and explore the foundations of working with clay. Participants really enjoyed the experience, and it was exciting to see their creativity come to life throughout the class.

There is already a lot of enthusiasm building, with many individuals eager to sign up for our upcoming ceramics class beginning April 2nd. It’s wonderful to see such interest and excitement around expanding skills and trying something new.

Beautiful Minds Art Studio is now up and running with its ceramics program, and we are thrilled to continue growing these opportunities. The program will feature workshops in collaboration with area artists, galleries, and art programs throughout Kansas, helping introduce a variety of artistic mediums through engaging workshops and presentations. We look forward to what’s ahead as this program continues to grow!

Sunflower entered a float in the Rush Center St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration this past weekend. It was a great opportunity to be part of such a fun community event, and everyone involved had a wonderful time. We are proud to share that Sunflower’s float was recognized with the Best Green award!

Cooking class was a big hit this week! Everyone really enjoyed the opportunity to get creative and make their own individual pizzas, choosing their favorite toppings. Alongside the pizzas, they made cheesy garlic bites that turned out amazing, and finished things off with cinnamon sugar pizzas for a sweet treat.

A few of the individuals we support participated in KDOT Clean Up Day and helped make our community a little brighter!

They worked hard picking up trash along the ditches and collected 12 bags of litter. We are proud of their efforts to give back and help keep our community clean. Great job to everyone who participated!
