Last week, Ms. Sharon was gracious enough to share her singing Valentine with the whole community! The GBHS Madrigals stopped by and delivered one heck of a performance and everyone was blown away! These kids are SO talented! Thank you Cheryl, for making sure River Bend was on their list of stops! We can't wait to hear them again!

Happy, Happy 93rd Birthday to Ms. Lela Mae today ❤️ such a kind, soft-hearted woman who does so much to keep herself feeling useful and her hands and heart busy in our community! The Happy Birthday song always brings tears to her eyes no matter who its for, but today is her day and she was feeling all the love! We sure hope she had a fantastic one! ❤️

We celebrated Valentine's Day with our 2026 Royal Coronation ❤️ Each year, we set out the ballot box and collect votes for River Bend's newest King and Queen pair. It is always such a fun surprise for all, though each of our residents are deserving of such a title! Our 2026 Valentine's King and Queen were officially announced -- Congratulations to Neil Frieb and Pauline Irick! Stay tuned for royal orders to come 🥰 Happy Valentine's Day to all of our residents, families and friends! May love surround you everywhere and anywhere you may go!

Holiday parties can require a lot of extra work and planning! Its a good thing we have several lovely ladies who enjoy participating in the fun! Valentine's cookies were on the menu this week and yes, we can attest from some well deserved sampling - They were delicious!!

This past week we had the pleasure of recognizing our Lifestyle Coordinator, Brenda Johnson, during National Activity Professionals Week. If you have had a loved one at River Bend at any point in the last 25 years, you surely know Brenda and the impact she has made on everyone she comes across. Brenda has served as our Lifestyle Coordinator for the past 6 years and we are hoping for many more to come, though we remind her that she could officially just move in now 🤭 she is responsible for all the ins and outs of keeping our residents active and engaged, but truly does so much more. She is a listening ear and a heart to confide in, an extra set of hands wherever needed, a fill-in on the nursing floor and in the kitchen-- Heck, she even has some maintenance skills! She is our manicurist, our chauffeur, our personal shopper, our expert toilet plunger. A well-rounded team player who never hesitates to help wherever needed. Thank you Brenda, for all you do for our team, for our residents and our families and for all the relationships you have built along the way!

Now that we are on the other side of our lovely blizzard, there's never a better time to give thanks ❤️ No doubt the best team in Great Bend showed up without hesitation to continue to provide top notch care to our residents through this arctic freeze! We are so blessed and thankful for each of their safety through this storm and for their commitment to our community! Stay warm friends! Bring on Spring!

Caught Brenda in some of her finest moments today 😂 we just HAD to celebrate National Popcorn Day today -- This requires some innovative dedication to not set off the fire alarms 😂 yes, we have learned that the hard way! Then we spent the afternoon with a few rounds of Skip-Bo. I believe the photographer requested to be "ignored" and encouraged them to "act natural." Going through the photos now, i found this "natural" gem 😂😂 what is "work" without fun?!

We celebrated our first birthday of 2026 earlier this week! Pepper was so surprised when we brought out her coconut cream pie saying "Oh my, how did you know my favorite!" 😂 She was joined for lunch on her special day by 3 of her 6 daughters who brought in Braums hamburgers to make her day that much more of a treat! One of Pepper's favorite things to do is brag on her family - 7 kids, a wonderful husband and a fulfilling life owning a trash truck business! This lady can sure do anything! Her family is also a hoot - always smiling and laughing when they are together! We love to fill our community with all the happy

The last few days have been a bit heavy around River Bend 💔 9 years of smiles, laughs and a lot of teasing... so many of us do not have River Bend memories that don't have you in them. We were blessed to love you and serve as your caregivers, Gerry - you taught us so much about ourselves and what we were capable of since the day you moved in. And oh, the secrets you could keep. You knew so much about each and every one of us, probably even more than you wanted to know 🥰 but you always listened. Rest easy, my friend. Love and prayers to all of your family and friends and nothing but celebration for your heavenly arrival.

We brought in the New Year a little early with a gathering for food, fellowship and fun! We enjoyed our snacks and Sparkling Grape Juice while playing a few games of Bingo and ended the evening with some celebratory confetti balloons and streamer cannons 😀 Wishing our families and friends all of life's greatest blessings in 2026!
