We can't let the day slip by without a special Happy Birthday shout out to someone who is part of our River Bend family, even if not officially -- She is OURS, just ask us! Our Hospice Aide, Ariel, is absolutely second to none. If you have been blessed to get to know Ariel while you're loved one has recieved hospice with us, past or present, you know just how truly lucky we are to have her around. She helps us care for our residents in their most vulnerable time in life and she does it with compassion, love, smiles, a gentle heart and a lot a side of ornery! She is the best at bringing joy to everyone she comes across, she can talk anybody into just about anything, (showers can be a tough sell sometimes!) And she takes pride in making sure she provides top notch care with every minute she spends with our people, whether it be telling stories, a nice shave or even a fancy manicure. Ariel is known to bring in special treats when she makes her rounds, albeit a special Starbucks coffee or a yummy donut, and she expects absolutely nothing in return. Many days, she arrives at River Bend before the sun rises to make sure she is providing that person-centered care on a schedule that fits our residents. She doesn't limit herself to just our hospice residents either, but rather you will often find her getting to know a majority of our residents, allowing her to build those relationships long before they may even need her care. We could go on and on, as you can see, but we'll just wrap it up and say - Happy Birthday, Ariel! You are truly irreplaceable to us and we sure hope we never have to worry about that!
