Our final Rosewood Adventure Travelers took the tour of Pawnee Rock and Fort Larned Historic Site last Friday. More than 30 Rosewood tourists got to experience central Kansas history over a two-week period, thanks to the thoughtful coordination by Rosewood Staffing to make the trips possible.

More fun excursions are planned. Stay tuned for our next adventures!

Our second Rosewood group explored around Pawnee Rock and toured Fort Larned Historic Site on Friday (July 18.) It’s amazing to see and experience the history that is all around us in central Kansas.

What a perfect unseasonably cool summer morning to experience remarkable Kansas history today (July 17). Several Rosewood folks were able to venture out to Pawnee Rock and then enjoy a tour of Fort Larned National Historic Site.

We’ll be taking more groups out to experience our wonderful history and heritage in the coming week.

Join Rosewood Miracle Workers AKTION Club during Explore Great Bend, KS City-Wide Sidewalk Sale on Saturday (July 12). We are holding a BIG GARAGE SALE from 8 a.m. to 1ish p.m., next to Rosewood Bargain Barn, at 1211 Main Street in downtown Great Bend.

Proceeds go toward funding our Club service projects and activities. We look forward to seeing you Saturday!!! 🙂

The athletics season began for Storm Special Olympics with bowling balls rumbling down hardwood lanes last September, gained momentum with strong showings by Storm Team members at Special Olympics Kansas State basketball and cheerleading last winter, then surged across the finish line in early June with the anchor of the 4x100 meter relay team at the State track and field championships.

Two Rosewood Groups explored Hutchinson Zoo last week (June 26 and 27). There was plenty to see and do for approximately 20 curious zoo-goers as they mingled with the animals from around the world, learned about conservation and experienced the unique nooks and crannies that the Hutchinson Zoo has to offer.

More Adventure Awaits! Plenty of other trips are scheduled for this summer and fall for our Rosewood Explorers.

Sharing our final series of photos from the Special Olympics Kansas Summer Games: With this series, we start at the beginning with opening ceremonies, where Storm Local Program Coordinator and Special Olympics Kansas Coach of the Year Amanda Hammond had the opportunity to present the “Coaches’ Oath” to the crowd. Also, Storm Athlete James Boehnke joined in the opening ceremonies “Walk of Champions.”

After the first day of competition on Saturday our Athletes enjoyed dance time “Under the Sea.” That concludes Storm Team’s AMAZING 2024-25 season. We’ll connect back again in September for Special Olympics Bowling.
