If one apple a day is so good, imagine what 1,000 could do …

Apple harvest is in full season at Rosewood Ranch. Our crew spent a warm September morning picking Royal Imperial, Honey Gold and Granny Smith Apples. Many of the apples were delivered to Rosewood Kitchen to be turned into something scrumptiously delicious.

We’re sure trying to keep that Good Doctor away. 😉

Some of our Rosewood Folks got to spend the day at Salina’s Rolling Hills Zoo last week, Sept. 18 and 19. The Thursday group had to deal with a bit of rain, but the afternoon got much better for them. Friday’s group had perfect weather. No matter the weather, Rolling Hills never seems to disappoint as an interesting and entertaining day trip adventure.

Several of our anglers got some late-summer fishing in. Catfish were biting on Monday (Labor Day) at the Rosewood Ranch Pond. And a small group enjoyed a cool day fishing at Wheatgrass Campground at Lake Wilson on Tuesday.

American novelist Edith Wharton wrote, “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” How fitting for the quote to match our Rosewood Staff teaching and empowering our Client-Employee Candle Makers at the new Rosewood Studio, located on Williams Street in Great Bend.

Our Candle-Making Crew creates a variety of candle scents, many perfect for the seasons, and with candle options that are made with all-natural ingredients.

All of our Rosewood candle creations are for sale at Rosewood Wine Cellar in downtown Great Bend. All of our Rosewood products are made or harvested with the help of people with disabilities, who are offered diverse opportunities in the workplace at Rosewood Services. Your purchase at Rosewood Wine Cellar or at our other Retail stores helps to sustain employment for people with disabilities.

We’re excited to announce that production is ramping up at our new Rosewood Studio location on Williams Street in Great Bend. Our Staff and Client-Employees are busy making soap that will be sold at Rosewood Wine Cellar and other Rosewood Retail opportunities. If you are in the market for gifts, please check out their fine work in downtown Great Bend.

More adventurous Rosewood anglers tried their luck at Lake Wilson, this time at Lucas Park on Friday.

Plenty of seasoned fishermen in the group, simply creating FUN memories during a hot summer day at the lake.

One more Rosewood group is heading out to Lake Wilson this week. Wish them luck!!!

Rosewood anglers ventured out to Lake Wilson by the Spillway to try their casting hand Thursday morning/afternoon.

Plenty of surf, sand, sun and smiles to go along with a summer fishing day.

Another Rosewood Fishing Group visited Lake Wilson today (Friday) and another will be “tackling” the trip next week. Stay connected for more fishing photos.

Rosewood was represented by a few brave souls in the Party In the Park Mud Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Explore Great Bend, KS last Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park. It’s a dirty job, but … they had so much fun doing it.

Life’s A Beach Party!!! Rosewood AKTION Club participated in Party In the Park Wet/Dry Parade, hosted by Explore Great Bend, KS and Kiwanis of Great Bend last Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park.

We enjoyed our rolling BEACH PARTY this year. Thanks to all who attended and brought the water!

It may be 100 degrees in the shade, but for Rosewood AKTION Club, Life is a Beach Party. We spent Friday afternoon preparing our float for the Kiwanis of Great Bend Wet/Dry Parade, happening Saturday morning at Veterans Memorial Park, Great Bend. Since we are BRINGING THE BEACH we hope you Bring The Water!!!
