Storm Special Olympics teamed up with personnel from Larned State Correctional Facility and Larned Police Department today (Friday) in front of Walmart, Great Bend, to promote this year’s upcoming Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR).

Central Kansas’ leg of the Torch Run will take place Wednesday, May 20, beginning at 10:45 a.m. at Schnack Park, Larned. From there, area law enforcement officers and athletes will carry the Torch from 4th and Broadway to the Pawnee County Courthouse. A barbecue celebration will be held afterward.

We enjoyed being part of the Paws and Claws Car Show Paws to benefit the Golden Belt Humane Society on Saturday, May 9 at Brit Spaugh Park. We’re sharing photos of some folks who took advantage of the Free Rides Saturday.

Rosewood Roots & Wings Foundation operates Dolly Trolley year-round. Watch for free ride opportunities during downtown Great Bend events, especially during the holiday season.

Storm Team jumped and threw to their hearts content during West Region Track & Field Championships at Dodge City High School on Saturday, April 25.

Their marks set the stage for State competition next month at Maize South High School. Good Luck at State, STORM!!!

Storm Team had a tremendous West Region Track and Field Championships outing at Dodge City High School on Saturday, April 25.

We’re starting with photos from competition on the oval, showing Storm Athletes’ grit and determination, along with smiles from the joy of competition.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Rosewood ECycle booth at Great Bend Earth Day Celebration on Saturday (April 25th) at Great Bend-Brit Spaugh Zoo.

The weather held out, giving us a beautiful day to chat with you about our mission and electronic recycling opportunities at Rosewood ECycle.

ECyling matters because it 1) protects wildlife and habitats, 2) conserves natural resources, 3( prevents water pollution, 4) reduces greenhouse gas emissions, 5) reduces landfill waste, 6) creates a safer future, and 7) supports sustainability!

If you have outdated or broken electronics lying around, you can drop them off anytime at 2200 Main Street. Our 24 hour drop box and friendly weekday staff make it simple. We even make pick-up arrangements for large ECycle donations from companies and organizations!

What makes our green community effort even better? Every ECycled item at our location provides meaningful work opportunities for those we serve with developmental disabilities.

We’re proud of our TEAM and the work happening at Rosewood ECycle!

If you have outdated or broken electronics lying around, you can drop them off anytime at 2200 Main Street. Our 24 hour drop box and friendly weekday staff make it simple. We even make pick-up arrangements for large E-Cycle donations from companies and organizations.

What makes this even better? Every recycled item helps provide meaningful work for people with developmental disabilities. Thanks to community involvement, Rosewood ECycle recycles about 3,000 pounds of electronics each month and continues to grow through partnerships across central Kansas.
