A dry socket happens when the blood clot in a tooth extraction site gets loosened or doesn't form, leaving the bone exposed. This can cause strong, deep pain that usually starts a couple days after the extraction.

When to call:
✔️Pain worsening after 2-3 days
✔️Bad taste or smell
✔️The socket looks empty or you can see bone

Winter weather doesn't just make you cold it can make your jaw ache, too ❄️😬

When it's cold, your face muscles tighten up, and shivering or holiday stress can make you clench more. That's why TMJ pain often feels worse in the winter.

Here are some easy ways to help:
✔️ Use a warm compress on your jaw
✔️ Keep your neck and jaw covered outside
✔️ Try not to clench when you shiver
✔️ Eat softer foods during flare-ups
✔️ Do gentle jaw stretches indoors
