Warm up with this comforting, creamy chowder that’s packed with flavor and showcases the richness of Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup diced onion
½ cup diced celery
½ cup diced carrots
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups seafood or chicken stock
1 cup diced potatoes
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ tsp dried)
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1½ cups whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
1 pound cooked Sockeye Salmon, flaked
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, celery, carrots, and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the stock and bring to a boil.
Add potatoes, thyme, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 10–12 minutes.
Stir in milk, cream, and salmon. Heat through gently—do not boil.
Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
